What is love?

Cold brushes against my skin
Closed arms around me to keep the heat in
Breakable.
My layers are cold and thin
Feeble.
They were made to give in

It's cold outside
I feel it in here
All over my body
Coating like poison
Numbing my core
Indifferent in my soul
Or maybe locked away
Location unknown

I believe I can love you
I have a lot for you
If I fight against my angst
Against my subtly glowing rage
Maybe I can finally ask
What is love?

What is it?
Comfort, support, touch, with mobility?
Or is it,
Risk, growing, learning, empathy?
A bigger entity to show me
The way that I will lead
Through experience and understanding
Of others touch and experience of me?

Somewhere love is living
Somewhere love is loving
Somewhere love radiates,
Fighting against the foggy haze
That clouds my judgement
That disguises my emotions
