One blow, one fucking blow, and it was over. My head was pounding like never before in my life after Zelina had hit me awkwardly in the face. Immediately I got so dizzy that I could no longer stand on my feet. I blacked out and suddenly I couldn't hear anything.

I didn't even hear the ringing of the bell that sealed our defeat. I don't know how long I was out, but at some point I heard Rhea's voice.

"Y/N, come on. Wake up." she said, shaking my shoulder.

Slowly I opened my eyes, but still everything was spinning around me. I tried to sit up, but Rhea stopped me.

"I'm okay. Let me." I croaked and rolled myself out of the ring to be able to go to the back.

"Y/N, stop it, you're hurt." I suddenly heard another voice say. A deep, masculine voice.

"I'm fine!" I grumbled and took the first steps, only to collapse immediately.

"You're not fine. You're bleeding like crazy." said Damian as he caught me and then just lifted me into his arms.

Without another word, he marched off. I lifted a hand to my face to examine it carefully. When I got to my nose, there was this sharp pain that definitely didn't mean anything good. I looked at my hand. It was covered with blood. A lot of blood.

But then I suddenly became aware of what was happening here. Damian carried me in his arms to the back. What was that about? Usually he hardly spoke a word with me and now he suddenly came rushing to the ring because I was hurt.

I began to wriggle in his arms, hoping he would let me down. But I had no success with it.

"Stop it, goddammit. Do you want to fall and hurt yourself even more?" he scolded me.

"I can walk by myself. Put me down, Damian!" I demanded.

"No!" he growled as he looked at me firmly.

Something about his tone made me fall silent. It was clear he didn't want to hear any backtalk. He carried me straight to the trainer's room, where I was immediately examined by one of the doctors.

"Well, Y/N. I'm afraid your nose is broken. We'll have to take you to the hospital. You're going to need surgery. I am sorry, but that's it for your title match on Sunday." he said doctor when he had patched me up.

"Fucking shit!I'm going to kill that bitch!" I screamed as I hopped off the exam table.

Immediately I felt dizzy again, but before I could fall someone caught me. It was Damian again.

"Better wait with that until you're back in shape, Y/N." he chuckled.

"You have no idea! We should win the Women's tag team championship on Sunday! You have no idea how important this is to me. Now let me go. I want to break her face too!" I yelled as he held me back.

"I'm sure you'll get another opportunity for that and now relax, baby girl. I don't want you to get hurt anymore, nor do I want you to get in trouble." explained Damian to me.

"Why do you care if I get in trouble? We're really not close," I replied a little more calmly as I looked up at the big man who was still holding me in his arms.

"Not yet anyway!" he muttered.

"What?" I asked, stunned.

"Listen, Y/N, I know this might not be the best time, but I really like you. I just haven't had the balls to approach you yet. Rhea's been trying to push me into making a move for a while now." he replied and I saw his cheeks turn red.

"Oh..." was all I could say.

"Oh? Okay, I get it. You're not interested. I, um... I'd better go." he said as he broke away from me.

"Wait! I'm just surprised. I mean, I just didn't expect you to like me or anything. I'm just... me. Someone very ordinary. Nothing special." I explained to him, lowering my gaze to my shoes.

"Y/N, even covered in blood, you're still the most beautiful woman I've ever met. And your personality beats that by a mile." he replied as he lifted my chin with his index finger.

"Are you serious?" I whispered.

"Yes. Now let's get you to the hospital. You need to be fit soon to teach Zelina a lesson." he said and winked at me.

Then he took my hand in his. And I had to admit that I had rarely felt anything so good and natural.
