January 6, 2030.

Finally, after months of waiting, the game that I long wanted has finally been released! I've been addicted to games since I was 7 and it all started with the game Super Mario Bros! I never expected that technology would evolve so much. At first, I was just using controllers, but now, we use visors. How amazing is that? *KNOCK* *KNOCK* Oh, wait a minute.

Who is that? I opened the door and saw a delivery man in uniform. "Kim Minjeong?" he asked. "That's me, is the CD inside that?" "Yep, here you go." He handed the parcel to me. "Thanks, here's a tip." I gave him 10 bucks and closed the door.

After that, I rushed to my bedroom — excited, I grabbed the visor that I use for VR. Firstly, I inserted the CD into the æ (referring to the visor/headgear) and wore it. Next, I lay down, closing my eyes. Finally, I pressed the visor and then shouted "SYNK DIVE!" the game started.

Username?  What should I put? Hmmm... maybe ice queen? Nah, that's weird. I can't even imagine someone calling me an ice queen. I'm not effing Elsa. Too girly. I guess I could go with Winter?

The game then made me create my character. I chose to be an elf because they look so cool with their pointy ears. Anyway, I didn't really banter with it that much since I was a beta tester.

I finished customizing my character and was spawned at Eglarest. The game looked astonishingly beautiful. It exceeded my expectations, I never knew it would look so realistic. Graphics also looked different from the beta test version. I could cry now because of its beauty, but I won't do that since the people around me might think I'm weird.

Anyway, I think I can freely choose my role in this game. It didn't ask what class or role I wanted to be and I'm glad it didn't. In the beta version, we were required to pick our roles and stuff. But the weapons that you could master are limited, so I guess I should be careful.

There were a lot of players scattered around the area too, and I could only assume that this was the elves' kingdom. Other races were rarely seen, so I came to that conclusion. I decided to wander around the area and saw tons of vendors.

These guys must be from other countries since I heard that some countries got the game earlier than I did. As I was strolling I saw a gate, and because of my curiosity, I went there. I saw an NPC on my right and I interacted with it. "Hey, there Winter! I'm Nævis. Please feel free to ask me anything," the female NPC said. "Hey, Nævis, may I ask what's outside this gate?" I replied.

"Good question!" Nævis said, while our surroundings became blue particles forming a grassy field that looked like the outside. "This is the grasslands. There are many of these and you could find them in between different kingdoms.

Each region of the grasslands has different dungeons also coming with different loots. The mobs and appearances for each will also differ. I may tell you that you are in Grasslands Region III. Also, for your convenience, I would advise you to be careful while exploring because if you die your loot will go with you, therefore, losing all your progress.

Except, if you own a house and you stored your loot there, then your other items would be safe." She finished and all I could do was nod to everything that she said.

"Thanks, Nævis." I smiled.

"Do you have any more questions?"

"None, thank you."

"Before departing I would like you to choose a weapon among these. Don't worry as though you will not be permanently assigned as you could always change your equipment but other tools may not be used because there is an assigned skill level per weapon." Nævis showed me a bunch of weapons; there were bows, guns, swords, spears, knives, blades, and many more.

The one that caught my attention was the gun. I never thought that the game would include such a weapon, but I don't mind. "Thanks again, Nævis," I beamed. "Good luck on your journey!" The blue particles now came back, transporting me to where I was before.

The gun then appeared in mid-air, teleporting to my holster. I guess it's time to roll. I exited the gate and entered the Grasslands. It looks so nice here. The graphics are amazing. I might mistake this for real life.  A lot of players seem to be farming already. I need to find a spot to kill some mobs too.
