Preface -

Even though I knew I was going to leave Connecticut eventually it was still weird to believe that I was actually going, today. Since middle school, when I met my best friend Brooke, we both got into designing our own clothes and our dream was to move to a fashion capital and own our own boutique. We wanted to either move to Milan or London and after a long debate, we decided on London. That was 6th grade.

Now we're seniors in high school, dropping out to move halfway across the world to produce our own clothing line in our very own store soon to be named, Crystal Boutique. Since we have been saving our money for almost 6 years now and have already produced a good amount of clothing to stock our store, we don't really have a problem moving so fast to accomplish our dream. With the help of our extremely supportive parents, we were able to get everything set up in London through the previous store owner who we bought the cute little shop in downtown London. We were even lucky enough to find an apartment complex only a few blocks away from where the store is located that we have all set to move in. We are pretty much starting from scratch, but Brooke and I are excited and ready to begin our adventure as clothing designers. Although we ere extremely excited to get started, it was tremendously difficult to say our goodbyes to our friends and family.

"Call me as soon as you land, honey! I love you!"

"Alright mom!" I yelled back as I stepped past the gateway through security, "I'll call you as much as I can okay? Love you both!"

"C'mon Cameren we are going to miss our plane! Everyone is boarding! Mom, Dad, I love you! And stop crying!" Brooke yelled across the gateway, annoyed yet eager to board.

"Alright, alright I'm coming. Sorry, you know how my parents are," I said matter-of-factly.

After saying our last farewells to our sobbing parents, we stepped onto the platform to join the line that was gradually getting shorter as people stepped onto the plane. Taking one last glance backwards, I saw my mom hugging Brooke's mom and turned back around so I wouldn't cry. Both of our parents were very close and we knew that they would miss us terribly. We also knew that they wanted us to do what we wanted because they knew we were capable of being responsible adults.

Stepping onto the plane I let out a huge sigh and sat down next to Brooke.

"Our journey awaits," I smiled at Brooke.

"It certainly does," Brooke smiled back at me, clutching her armrest in excitement.

We were finally up in the air, on our way to the one and only, London, England.
