"What was that?" I whisper aloud picking the fruit off of the bush and placing it into a piece of cloth from my satchel. 'Who was that man? Was that a memory? How long have I been standing here?!' I rushed back out of the forest to be greeted by fifteen bodies storming my way. 'Oh well it looks like Gandalf came back' I chuckled to myself as they rushed towards me with angry faces.

"Where have you been young lady?!" Bilbo demanded after pulling my legs into a tight squeeze. I just giggled in reply and sauntered over to lay my sleeping bag out. "Arielle answer me!Nori came back and said you wanted to check something out? What could you possibly want to check out in the woods in the middle of the night? When you didn't come back after the first twenty minutes we all started to get worried". I glanced at everyone's faces to see looks of agreement and sighed softy.

"Guys, don't worry, I only wanted to get these", I pulled the cloth carefully out of my satchel so I didn't crush it and unwrapped the berries.

"Berries! That's what you had us all worried about you for? Some stupid berries!" Thorin boomed, not bothering to hold back his anger. I looked down at him shocked as he seemed to register what he said.

"I'm sorry to of had you so worried Thorin, but these aren't just any berries, they're Nonias" I spoke as if they were dipped in gold. The crew just looked at me as if I was crazy and I just rolled my eyes pushing my loot forward so they could try them.

"Oh yes, Nonias" Gandalf said picking up a few along with everyone else. "A very cherished berry among the elves" he finished and Thorin spit them out of his mouth.

"Disgusting" he remarked after not even having tried them. That just made me angry especially after recalling the special memory I just had, which I still needed to talk to Bilbo about! Everyone else seemed to enjoy the fruit and Thorin just marched off to sit by the brewing meal Bombur had cooked. I joined him and soon the whole company warmed by the flames and shared jokes to pass the time until dinner. Fili and Kili had left earlier by orders of Thorin to keep watch of the horses and so Bombur sent me to go bring them their meals, along with Bilbo. We found them staring into the dark forest like madmen so I spoke up.

"What are you guys doing?" I questioned Fili. He quickly put his hand over my mouth to shush me but I brushed it off. "Oh god! get that thing off me, I have no idea where that's been. For all I know you could have been scratching your-" Fili re-clamped his hand over my mouth before I could finish.

"We had fifteen horses before but now only thirteen are here" Kili trailed off still gazing into the darkness.

"Well why don't you go look into it" Bilbo suggested before setting down the bowls on a log in front of them and beginning to head back to the campsite.

"Oh but you see Bilbo, that's what you're here for" Kili said dragging him back over to me.

"Hey, he's not a rag doll don't pull on him like that!" I hissed at Kili and hugged Bilbo to me.

"However, since I seem to be surrounded by cowards I think I'll go check it out myself". With shouts of protest blasting in back of me, I swiftly began to zig-zag through the trees and hop over bushes while searching for this mystery horse thief, and you wouldn't be surprised by what I found.

They were huge trolls. I hid behind a boulder as I came upon their campsite, and watched on as the three humongous trolls argued with each other. I started to circle the perimeter of the campsite through the trees and finally came upon the two missing nags. They were tied up and I reached into my left boot to retrieve my handy dandy neck slicin' blade, but as I was pulling it out I saw something moving in the corner of my eye. Thinking i had attracted the attention of the potato heads, I ripped out my blade and turned to see Bilbo reaching for a sword strapped to one of the trolls. Before, I could get him to stop the troll whipped his hand behind him and grabbed Bilbo bringing the hobbit into the air and covering him in snot. I cringed and watched silently as Billy Bob Bilbo tried to reason with the trolls. As I got ready to pounce on one of them, the rest of the company came charging in to rescue their friend. Kili sliced one of the meatballs' ankles right as I lodged my dagger into its' arm. It let out a glass shattering scream before flinging me into a giant rock and I hit my head blacking out.

When I came to, I realized that some of the crew were circling over the fire pit like a pig and the rest were tied up, Bilbo was trying to convince the trolls not to eat everyone because they had parasites.

" I don't have parasites, you have parasites!" Kili yelled at Bilbo, I rolled my eyes, obviously he was stalling for time. Thorin caught on and silenced Kili with a kick and gave him a look that explained Bilbo's plan. Everyone soon started shouting how they had the biggest parasites.

The trolls, dumb as they seemed, figured out what Bilbo was doing and was about to take a bite out of Bombur when I stepped in.

"Hey, meatball, yeah you with the potato head! Didn't your mom teach you that eating people isn't nice?" I stumbled into the clearing and slightly tripped over Nori.

"An elf, what is she doing here?" One of them questioned, having not really noticed me before.

"We can cook her, elf meat is soft and juicy" another one piped in. I was still kinda out of it and wasn't sure if I could take them all but I couldn't let them hurt any of my new friends, especially Bilbo.

Wait, where the flipping flapjacks was Gandalf?! I rolled my eyes before reaching for the dagger in my boot only to remember that it went flying somewhere when I hit the rock. All my other weapons where at the campsite...but there was a sword one of the dwarves must have dropped during the fight. The trolls saw that I was going to make a dash for it and one of them sent me hurling to the side with a smack of his hand. I groaned, picking my self up and watching as everyone struggled to get out of their binds while one of the trolls made its way to me. I pushed myself up and ran towards it sliding under its' legs and grabbing the sword I saw before, right as it tried to grab me. I then leaped into the air onto another one's head and raised the sword attempting to bring it down, but right before it punctured the pudge's head, the third troll hit me out of the air with a club and sent me rolling on the ground. I screamed out in pain as I heard my arm crunch under me.

" Arielle!" Bilbo, Kili, Fili, and Thorin yelled simultaneously, drawing the trolls' attention. I was sprawled in the dirt, on the verge of passing out from pain, wondering where in the hell Gandalf was, when I heard Bilbo scream. A troll had picked him up and was going to bite his head off...and that's when I lost it. In those next seconds I don't know what came over me, but when I heard that little hobbit's cry, something sparked inside of me and all I felt was a rush of heat before a stream of light shot from my hand out toward the troll. It turned to ash and the dust fell to the ground. Gandalf then decided to make his presence known by splitting a rock and allowing the morning rays to turn the remaining two trolls to stone, and that's all I saw before I dove into darkness.
