If I chase after Carter would he tell me to leave him alone to? I got up and chased after him, I knew it was the right thing to do.
"Carter?" I yelled he slowly opened my bedroom door.
We really got to get this kid his own room, wait why didn't I just walk in? It is MY room.
"I just want to talk" I quietly said to him
"I want to talk to you too"
We sat down on my bed and we just talked this over.
"I just can't believe I'm adopted..."
"Well this is good news and bad news right?"
"ADALINE EXPLAIN HOW THIS IS GOOD DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND IM ADOPTED NO GOOD THING ABOUT IT!!!!" Carter flipped out he was pacing and yelling at the same time, I started to tear up.
"I'm sorry Adaline" he said, he came over and hugged me. "It's just that means I never knew my real parents."
"Let's find them!" I said sniffling
"How?"
"We can search for them"
"We need to get my..."
"Dad?"
"I don't know if I should call him that"
"You should." "He's the closest thing"
"True"

The next day we found more information but it wasn't good. Both parents of Carter died in a car crash 5 years ago. Carter would not leave our room, I went to the office of my school and prepared to leave my school and move to Carter's. We still lived in my house for that was where Scott lived now as well. My parents said they need my room so we would get the entire basement, I was over joyed and Carter was too. But today he wouldn't stop crying. Enough was enough.
I came into the room slowly as I saw Carter in a corner all curled up.
"Baby, don't cry like this"
"I never knew them" he sniffles in between the words.
"I know" I walked over and he got up and hugged me.
"I have no one"
"Don't say that baby!" I said "You have me!"
"Just you"
"No you have your friends and my family which is Scott he adopted you, if it weren't for him you would be in a foster home"
"True" He hugged me and we watched a movie in bed, we cuddled up and we told each other tomorrow we would work on the basement together.
"Adaline?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you"
The words were like shock to me. I've only heard him say that once and it was so magical. He leaned in and kissed me.
"We are in this together okay?" I asked
"Okay." He answered.

We cuddled and watched the movie then fell asleep but when I woke up, he was gone!
