((A/n: Hello! And welcome to another story that I probably will never finish! Haha~! After reading certain stories, I decided to write my very own story sorta based on the manhua and web novel, Beauty and the Beasts. I didn't really connect well with the female lead but she will be featured just for the sake of the story. Please enjoy the story!

Edit - 4/27/23:

Hello again! I apologize for not being active these days. There were some private issues that I need to solve before I continued. Anyways, while I was resolving them, I thought about rewriting the story that I have come to love. I hope that you enjoy it still. ))

A female main character or heroine as people like to call them, embodies kindness to everyone even if they wronged the heroine. A Heroine is lovely and loved by all that get to see her dazzling smile and meet her.

I saw my own twin as that heroine. She embodies kindness just like our mother and is loved by all – like mother, despite us being identical twins. That never stopped us from being ourselves or even getting in the way of our loyalty to each other.

Our childhood was a happy one to a degree. Mother happily raised us, and the men of the village would look at her, admiring her beauty, but she would always repeat the same thing every time.

"I love a man already. I have given my heart to him only. There can be no other." She would say with a smile, and it was those moments that made me admire the love she had for Father – a man that we never met or didn't know if he was alive. Mother would tell us that we had his hair color and his nose. I was proud to have something from my father. I dreamt about him – what kind of man he was, and just what did he do to make Mother absolutely in love and hopelessly devoted to him? Was he some kind of knight? A hero? A famous scholar perhaps? A magician? A foreign prince maybe? The thoughts were endless.

Our carefree childhood ended when our mother died.

Two girls of eight years of age, wandering around the kingdom to look for work, to extend their knowledge and their skills – orphaned and lost until we came to the capital to look for answers.

Our father was a powerful man indeed as I envisioned but didn't know how important.

He was the Emperor of our Kingdom.

To say he was happy was an understatement as he immediately recognized our eyes... the eyes of his beloved.

"You have your mothers' eyes." He said to us both when he saw us, shakingly moving his hand towards us. How do we become close after so many years apart? The last that he saw of us was when we were still babies. As I was about to reply, he asked the question we dreaded to answer for we knew it would not only bring bad memories, but heartbreak for him.

"Your mother... My Elisabeth... Where is she?" he asked, his grip on us tight but gentle. He was afraid that he was going to lose us again if he let go.

Aileen and I were silent, glancing at each other before answering.

"Two men killed her in our home...," said Aileen.

"...She protected us... we were forced to watch in silence until they left... we buried her in the gardens she planted herself..." I may have seemed harsh at the time, I admit, but he was a man that appreciated bluntness... but he became a different man afterward. Afraid of us leaving his side, like the protective father I imagined him to be... my hero.

I became his knight, his champion to carry out duties for the empire. His word was law, and he was a wise and just ruler. I was proud to be his daughter. So was Aileen as she made a name for herself by bringing reforms accepted by Father himself like public schools and hospitals. She made food widely available and stabilized taxes. I protected her and father... it was my sworn duty to the crown that I was loyal to and that I was a part of.
