Standing In The Rain

The rain is falling singing its sweet melody, as it runs it delicate fingers down my face.  I shut my eyes to complete darkness, and let my mind wander to a place where I am alone and free.
~~
When I open my eyes I am met by a blinding light, it warms my skin; seeping into my body. The wind pushes at me urging me to step forward.  I step into lush, green grass. I wiggle my toes. Then without another thought I run.
~~
My toes grip the earth beneath me. I inhale the crisp morning air. I stop only for a moment to look up.  I see birds flying, cloud passing by, and peace and serenity calling out to me.  Then I take flight.
~~
I am souring through the sky. The beautiful earth flourishes beneath me. The animals all join in to create thier choir. The rivers wash away all the pain and sorrow. The sky gives hope to the world; that the sun will pass through it once again, and will bring a new day.
~~
Finally I settle onto a strong Oak. I let the surrounding twigs cradel me.
"Well, what am I going to do today?" I ask myself, bored at the thought.
"I have an idea," replies a deep voice. I follow the voice to behind a tree. When I turn the corner I see a man in his early twenties. His feet are barefoot and filthy, but his piercing green eyes, and tanned, buff arms make up for that.  He wears grass stained jeans. His wet, white, and slightly seethrough shirt reveals a tatto of a wing right below his collar bone.
"If you are finished checking me out, we can go somewhere," he smirks.
"Why should I go anywhere with you? You dont even know my name, and even worse... I DONT KNOW YOU!!!"
" Well, then whats your name. Let me guess, Thomas?" He chuckles why I contemplate my decision.
~~
" Ember. My name is Ember. I know its stupid, but its not my fault-"
"No, its perfect." He gives me an assuring smile; that throws me over the top. My knees buckle, and my heart flutters.
" Now that we got that covered, follow me." As soon as he says that it begins to drizzle. One of those dreamy smiles slides across his face. He extends his hand to me, and I reluctantly take it.
~~
The man begins to lead me deeper into the woods. We both are laughing and smiling, and for that moment I begin to feel the pain and fear slip away.
~~
Then suddenly I hear a ear-splitting screech. I look up only to find that the majestic land is gone and has been replaced by the dirty streets of New Jersey. A dirt stained taxi is honking at me, and people are staring in my direction.
"What are you doing? You can't just throw yourself into the road like that!" Calls a red headed girl. She hustles over to me with a duffel bag in one hand and an umbrella in the other. When she reaches me she grabs my soaked hoodie and yanks me onto the sidewalk.
"With where you going your gonna need those legs... moving!!!
" Do I know you? And what are you talking about?" Before the girl continues she holds the umbrella over my head attempting to shield me from the sudden outburst of rain.
"Oh excuse me, I am Miranda Scott the owner of Ace Dance Studio. You were dancing...on the sidewalk... in the rain. You were amazing!!! I would totally love for you to come check out my studio sometime. I would be happy to have you!"
~~
That was it. The girl handed me her business card and briskly walked away.
~~
So I was left there, just standing in the rain.
