Everyone has their highs and lows in life. I like to compare life to the ocean. The ocean contains many waves just like the earth contains many humans. The waves have a crest/high point and a trough/low point. The wave has a lot of energy and it won't stop unless an outside force does. We all have our highs and lows and just like a wave, we contain lots of positve energy until something or someone ruins it. When the outside force stops the wave, it breaks just like we do at some point in life. At some point we all break and come crashing down- whether it is something inside or outside that brings us down doesn't matter. We just need to have hope that another wave is going to be there for us when we break. The wonderful thing about the ocean is once one wave breaks there's always another one. Life is a constant cycle of highs, lows, crashing and starting back up again.
I just have one question:
Why can't we just build a boat and sail through life with ease instead of having to swim through the waves?
Well my answer just so happens to be more questions. If we didn't have extreme highs what would life be worth living? If we didn't have extreme lows what would we learn? If we don't break how are we going to handle things life throws at us in the future? There are certain things we have to do in life before we get to the place we want to be.
Life isn't just rainbows, butterflies, kittens, unicorns, and everything else in between. Life can be storms, spiders, rats, witches, and the complete opposite of happy things. It is always good to think positive but keep in mind the reality of life. Without negative moments how would we know what are good memories? It would be one giant blob of bland. It is like yin and yang. Positive and negative work together and without one there would be no other. There is a balance required.
However you look at life, continue to sail through it. Whether the waters are calm today and rough tomorrow, just keep sailing. You will spot shore soon and set sail again when you're ready.
