origin.
IT WAS THE SAME DREAM ONCE AGAIN.
You stood in the middle of nowhere where only solitude resides and the whispers of the wind lulling you and your cascading teardrop to peace— wait, tears? Your palm carefully glided across your left cheek. You came into this place with no memory as to what led your feet to this blue-painted horizon and tranquil waters that not even a small ripple sounded.
Still, it fantasizes you how this ocean reflects the exact replica of the sky.
It was such an oddity how you defied the laws of the ocean as you stood on top of it.
"You're here!"
A voice located from the back had finally put an end to the silence. You whipped your head in that direction and you spotted a boy, but he was too far for your eyes to make out the details of his features. You squinted your eyes, aiming to get a better view. Much to your relief, he himself stepped a little closer to you, ever so slowly.
You wondered why he hadn't let himself get even closer to you; it did help now that his distance wasn't as far as before. You provided a shade above your eyes using your hand to prevent the light blur your vision and there you see, black hair with two braids on both side swaying left and right, lustrous aquamarine eyes glimmering under the sun's gentle fade of light and his cloak joining the motion of his hair which danced with the rhythm of the wind— how mesmerizing.
"Oh? Hey, why are you crying?" He frantically asked, "What happened? Did someone hurt you? I swear if it's those rodents again I'll—"
"I'm fine; this is nothing to worry about too much."
Huh? It was your voice but you did not intend to say that. You could control your actions, how you move and all but now that he was here, it was as if your voice grew conscious and your tongue carved words not once had crossed your mind.
"Uhm," A long 'mhm' reverberated from him until an idea popped into his mind, "Ah! How about a song then? Will that ease your mind?"
"Perhaps...?" You answered, involuntarily for the 2nd time, "I suppose we can give it a try?"
A ripple of giggle echoed and the boy finally cleared his throat,
"Then allow me, beloved (Y/N)!"
"!"
Past midnight wasn't a desirable time to flatter your eyes open, but here you are, fully awake with a dim surrounding, and only the moon's soft glow from the window guided you to your table.
You groggily rubbed your eyes, yawning before your eyes followed where the light was leading.
A book? You accumulated that book during your visit to a friend; she must've witnessed how your eyes refused to leave the item at her desk during her 'horror story' session— Poor Hu tao, she'd pout playfully and snap her two fingers in front of you whenever she'd spot you distracted, eyeing the item.
Giving up, the young funeral director laughed it all off and offered you to borrow the book. You raised a brow at the memory, was there anything on your face that caused Hu tao to snicker?
You've always loved reading. It didn't matter what genre it belongs to as long as each page embodies an entirely new reality to sink in, you would jump and dive in; a dream you'd willingly play in a loop.
You suddenly straightened your back.
Right.
"Speaking of dreams..." You trailed off, "Who was that person?"
Multiple times he appeared in your dream once under a tree, once in a statue, and more locations left undiscovered to you. Still, those dreams were comforting, ease to a storm of rage. You shuffled lightly before inserting your feet inside the pair of slippers under the bedstead. Slowly walking up to the table, your fingertips brushed the smooth texture of the book's leather cover.
Like a dream, a soft smile made its way to your face when you carefully opened the book and landed on a page wherein a drawing of a character's interaction was illustrated. Unexpectedly, the hero's tearful eyes matched yours during the dream from earlier and you pursed your lips with wide eyes.
Books and dreams... an idea was born.
And there, a plan was set in stone.
