Sara was busy working the night shift at the restaurant. She was used to the long hours and the people who wanted to eat way past eleven. She loved her job but, sometimes she just wanted something exciting to happen.
She was busy taking orders when a group of four boys wandered in. They looked worn out and tired. A boy with dark hair and chocolate brown eyes looked up. She hadn't realized she was staring till he raised his eyebrows in a sort of question.
Sara blushed and turned around, only to remember that she was the only waitress working this shift. Sara sighed, smiled at the people she had been talking to, and turned towards the boys. She resisted the urge to look at the chocolate eyed boy.
"Hi. My name is Sara and I'll be your waitress today. How 'bout I start you boys off with some drinks?" She pulled out a pad of paper and a pen.
"Water," a blonde boy with a lip ring told me.
"Root beer," a curly-haired boy with a bandana ordered.
"Dr. Pepper," a boy with bright blue hair eyed me up and down as he spoke.
"I'll have a glass of Sprite," said the one who had been staring at her.
She nodded her head and ran off to make them their drinks. Carrying them back to the table, she set them down. She took out the pad of paper again and turned to them.
"What will it be?" She asked.
They all ordered pizza to split. She smiled and wrote it down. The chocolate eyed one never once stopped staring at her.
When she went back and set the pizza down, he winked. She almost dropped the tray. She blushed.
"Anything else I can get you boys?" Sara asked.
"Your number." The brown eyed one said.
"Excuse me?" She asked.
"You asked if we needed anything else. I'll have another slice of your number." He told her.
"Um. Enjoy your food." Sara smiled before wandering away.
The night grew long as they continued to eat and talk. They ordered dessert too. And three refills. And all the while, the one who asked for her number never stopped looking at her.
She was grateful when they asked for the check. She set the bill down, turning to them.
"Thanks for coming. Hope you have a wonderful evening." Sara smiled.
"You forgot something." The brown eyed one said.
"I don't even know your name. What makes you think I'd give you my number?"
"Calum,"
"Well Calum. You didn't look very hard."
And with that she sauntered away. She never turned when the four walked out. She never looked up till her phone went off.
"You, me, movie. After your shift ends." He told her.
"I thought you'd never ask." She laughed.
Sara clocked out quickly. She wandered outside and there he was. A smile already on his face.
He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards his car. She smiled and together they drove till the road ended at a movie theater.
But, little did they know that their relationship had just started.
