I never saw an angel before.
He was beautiful. His stunning platinum blonde hair was flowing in a nonexistent wind and his light blue eyes shame even the most breathtaking skies.
Huge white wings spread out of his back, the feathers looking so unbelievable soft. He wore a white cloak which was nearly the color of his skin.
Like snow, so cold but beautiful at the same time. No impurity in sight.
Should I be ashamed to have him look at a lowly being like myself? He should only look at the most perfect thing on earth so that his eyes won't be tainted by imperfection.
Still, the most mesmerizing thing was his smile. So full of warmth and kindness. I don't want him to ever stop smiling.
After I while of me just staring at him, he started pointing at something behind me.
Even though I didn't want to, I still forced my eyes off of him and turned around. There was something floating.
A necklace. So stunning that I was scared to breathe, in case the air will break those dazzling jewels on it.
Did he want me to try it on? No, he couldn't. It's way too beautiful, way too expensive looking.
I turned back to him. He nodded firmly, still with that smile on his face.
I gulped. I couldn't say no now. What if it will disappoint him? I can't allow myself to make the angel sad.
I slowly approached the necklace and as I was standing right in front of it I looked at him again.
He watched me in anticipation. I took the jewelry and faced him. I hesitated but still put it on. It was cool against my neck.
I fixed my eyes on the angel again. His smile blinding me.
A few seconds past, then suddenly the necklace tighten around my neck.
In fear I tried to slip it off, but it was now too tight. The once smooth surface of the gems now turned rough.
A rope. No, not only a rope. A noose.
My throat got squeezed together and I was unable to breathe.
I looked at the angel in panic. He was still smiling. So kindly and warm. As breathtaking as ever.
My vision started to fade.
I didn't know the grim reaper could be so beautiful.
