Platform 9 ³/⁴
"Katsuki, for the love of Merlin, hurry the fuck up!" His mother hissed as she nearly shoved him through the fireplace. It's no wonder that he swears like a sailor with that as his example.
There's no way his family would take the muggle entrance to Platform 9 ³/⁴. 'Flo powder or apperating was how sane wizards travel' is what he had heard his whole life.
With an angry shout and a pinch of powder he'd stepped out of the fire and into a crowded station. A gentle hand pressed onto his shoulder, "It'll be okay no matter what, kiddo".
His father was a kind man. Too bad he married a raging hag. "And don't drop that luggage!", came a shriek behind him. The family house elf, Kern, tugged on his levitating trunk.
"Miiistuki!! Marasu!", the jovial call was shortly followed by a woman with bright yellow hair and two boys walking towards them. His mother looked like she had swallowed a lemon, Yu Takeyama, her younger sister, twice widowed and once disowned for marrying a muggle, jogged over.
"Yu, Mirio, Denki", Katsuki saw his mother screwed up her face as she greeted her sister and nephews.
Suddenly wrapped in a hug he heard, "Oh please! Aunt YuYu is here to save the day!", his mother scowled. They had never truly reconciled since Aunt Yu still carried her first husband's last name. Apparently it was an afront to their heritage to keep a muggle name.
Once released back into the cool air Katsuki feels a fist bump his shoulder and a hand ruffle his hair. His two cousins Denki Kaminari and Mirio Togata. Mirio's dad died when he was young so Aunt Yu remarried resulting in his younger cousin.
"We're gonna be Hogwarts stuuuuudents, man!!", Denki gushed with all the excitement a first year could have. The only answer was a grunt from the pale haired blonde.
A hushed voice reached his ears as Aunt Yu drew Denki into what appeared to be the an excruciating conversation of pleasentries for his mother.
"You nervous?", Mirio stepped up beside him.
"Ah? What's there to be fucking nervous about?", with slouched shoulders his eyes flicked to his older cousin who just entered his 4th year.
Mirio kept staring across the platform, "Maybe.. our family's reaction to the house sorting?" He gave a sad laugh and a side glance as Katsuki stiffened.
"Fuck 'em"
"You can always come find me if you need..", before Katsuki could even respond he felt another ruffle to his hair and his cousin had disappeared into the crowd.
Of fucking course he'd say that. The idiot had managed to get into Ravenclaw, the only other family approved house next to Slytherin.
It's not like he was Denki who was the beloved dimwit with no family expectations who could be sorted into any house and still accepted. No, Katsuki was raised to be the next head of the family just like his mother.
He takes the floating luggage by the handle ready to head onto the train when a hand tightly girps his shoulder.
"Where do you think you're going without saying goodbye, darling?", his mother only uses pet names when she's close to snapping. Guess Aunt Kiki did her best to annoy this shit out of the old bat.
"Just getting ready to, mother", straightened back, don't mumble, don't break eye contact, don't show weakness.
He turned fully toward his currently gathered family and with a slight bow, "Mother, father, Aunt Kitsuro I wish you farewell"
