Grell creeped outside of Ciel's room, checking for any sign of life. The hall was empty. The Beta quietly cracked open the door, flinching as the door creaked. Ciel's breath grew in his hearing. The Omega was peacefully sleeping, not aware of the stalking person at his door.

"You're up late."

Grell was startled and looked back to see Sebastian giving him a suspicious stare.

"And your reason for peering into my master's room is?" Sebstian wondered expectantly.

Grell fumbled over their words. "Oh, um. I - I was checking to make sure the little guy was okay! Yeah, he is an Omega afterall — you don't know who will come sneaking in at night."

Sebastian moved in front of the other butler and gently shut the door. Grell swallowed a nervous lump in their throat.

"You have no need to look after my master — that's my job. You should focus on Lady Red." Sebastian clarified, straightening his jacket.

The Beta nervously laughed. "Ah, yes. Goodnight." They spun on their heel but Sebastian stopped them.

The Alpha eyed them. "You wouldn't be planning to harm my young master, right?"

That line was an indirect warning for Grell to back off. Grell trembled with nerves, smiling with guilt. The Beta shook his head before taking off down the hall to his own chambers.

Sebastian could see right through Grell. The Beta wanted to hurt Ciel, but he had no idea why. He was too nervous to leave Ciel's room again. He pulled up a chair and sat in the hallway, keeping watch for any other intruders the rest of the night.

Grell didn't attempt to sneak back in that night. He too was up past midnight. The next morning, Tanaka reported that he saw Grell whispering through the phone secretively. Grell was clearly a threat, and Sebastian would have to stick close to Ciel.

Nobody would hurt his Omega...Well, future Omega.

Ciel found Sebastian nearly passed out outside his door. The Omega was filled with questions.

"Did you sit out here all night?"

Sebastian nodded. "Grell — that Beta is acting suspicious. I think they're planning to harm you."

Ciel was surprised, but his worry was focused on something else. "Did you stay up all night to guard my door?"

"Yes, I wanted to protect you."

Ciel paused, feeling responsible for Sebastian's exhausted state. The Omega gestured for him to enter the bedroom. Ciel moved to his bed and turned down the covers.

"Sleep in my bed for the morning, but be up by noon." Ciel instructed. Sebastian was about to protest, but Ciel commanded, "That was an order."

Sebstian smiled, "Yes, my lord."
