The Last Time

It's been so long. About 5 years since I saw my sister's face. After losing my mother in a freak accident and never meeting my father, even though my mother spoke very highly of him.

"Oh your father was an incredible man", I remember her telling me when I was a child, my sister was the only thing I had left. For family, someone to care for, someone to love. Losing everybody else, having just my sister with me, was everything to me. During one summer, I lost her too. I couldn't believe how my life turned out. Never met my father, lost my mother, and now lost my big sister. What am I to do now? I'm left hopeless, without my world.

Last summer. Me and Bianca were still running. That's all that we could do. We lost our parents, nobody would care for us. We're just children. And we're being forced to run away from foster homes, families that took us in, and more. I couldn't any longer. I wanted a family.

I see children with their parents and family, so happy. Me and Bianca just watch them go and come from school with their loving families. That's all I ever wanted. To be normal.

But that can never happen. Not with the gift, or curse, I have been given from the mysterious people that abducted us. My sister and I were just minding our own business when men in black suits, tall, and with glasses, came and just took us off the streets. I wake up and see my sister tied up in a machine with a laser pointed to her face.

What are they gonna do to my sister???

I start to panic. I realize I am tied up in the same compartment too. A man walks into the room and says,

"So children, what might your names be? I looked at my sister, she shook her head signaling me not to tell this stranger who we are.

"I...I..uh.. my name is Tommy. A..And that's my sister Rebecca. " I stammered.

"Lovely names you have..... Nico and Bianca" he says sternly, knowing I lied to him. "Now I will ask u several more questions, and please, refrain from lying, you're terrible at it." I was shocked, but left helpless, so I nodded. "Now, what might your last names be?"

"I...I..uh ..I don't know."

"You don't know, you say? Hahahaha" he bursts into laughter.

"I swear, I don't know." I said trying to sound persuasive.

"Hmmm mm who might your father be?"

I can't tell him, even if I did, he wouldn't believe me.

"Umm I never met my father, he abandoned us when we were babies." The man gives me an awkward look, then just nods.

"Well, Nico, may I call you that? I've brought you and your sister here to help you. I saw you two, many times in the streets of different states, all over the country, throughout the years. I've brought you two here, to make you part of a revolution in science. To give you power. You can do whatever you desire. You can have ANYTHING!! Just follow along with me, and you can have all of it." he says with an evil grin.

Anything I want??? Is this guy for real? Can I really get whatever I desire?

"Ok mister." I nod.

"Good boy. Now sit tight. You'll be here for a while. Oh where are my manners, my name is Zodd, and this is my laboratory. " he walks out of his lab, while taking off the tape from my sister's mouth.

"What is wrong with you Nico!!??! That man is not good, why did you agree to do what he wishes?"

"I'm sorry Bianca, but he said we can have anything we want, we can even get mom and dad back and be like those families. "

My sister looks at me, she begins to tear up. Zodd walks back in with certain tools in his hand.

"Now Nico, hold still," he says with a needle in his hand, "THIS IS GOING TO HURT A LOT!!!" He injects me with the needle, and a fiery red liquid sears into my blood and burns through my veins, within a an few seconds, I lose vision.
