One night, a group of small kids celebrating a birthday when Rupert the birthday child in question wishes to have Porter making up a show, only for a somewhat rude employee named Noah to shut down the stage and confront the kids, claim the porcupine's on a "picnic break".

Yet Rupert manage to steal the keys from the employee to reactivate Porter. While said employee is distracted with the other guests, the stage comes alive within the porcupine on it, though his presence is rather sinister and unnatural. Despite this, he soon offers Rupert a great show in exchange for a hug and reluctant at first Rupert is tricked into giving him a hug regardless with the spiky rodent feigning friendliness.

Soon as the birthday boy hugs him, Porter suddenly changes his eyes become bloodshot, sharp claws dig into Rupert's back. The animatronic clings tight when his mask falls off to revealed his monstrous face, drags him slowly further down stage as the curtains close.

After Janice questions where he had disappeared to Noah suddenly looks at the stage within its closed curtains, he instantly becomes fearful. Charges towards it (this strongly implies Porter had attacked before) - yet when Noah checked on Porter seemed to be back in place and normal again.

Noah does notice the muffled crying of Rupert from inside the critter however (it's likely he was devoured off-screen) and when he leans closer, the boy's arm rips out from Porter's mouth.
