Stiles swore he would stay awake during the lecture and had even drunk a Mountain Dew Kickstart to ensure he would despite the fact that it did nothing but make his ADHD worse. It didn't seem to matter though because he did in fact, end up falling asleep before they were even ten minutes in. He had gotten little to no sleep since that fateful night three weeks ago when he sent his application in. Of course, he did not expect an overnight shipment, straight to his door with his ideal Alpha, but he had hoped maybe a few days would be all it took.

A few days became a week, one week became two weeks, two weeks became three weeks and slowly he started to feel that hopelessness settle in his stomach again. It obviously wasn't going to happen and who was he kidding? He was Stiles Stilinski and that in itself would probably turn any alpha stateside the other way. At least that's what Stiles told himself because why else wouldn't they have said something? He hoped it was because they were being extra particular and not because they couldn't find the right card to say, We're sorry but you're unmatchable with any alpha because of your characteristics and really you should've expected this.
He was awoken by a hand on each of his arms, one belonging to his best friend and the other belonging to his best friend's girlfriend's roommate whom he should also just refer to as his best friend.
Lydia was not pleased that Stiles had fallen asleep, but she was more concerned about his well-being than the drool currently coating her notes, the notes that she had let him borrow. "Stiles? Why do you do this to yourself?"
Stiles quickly wiped his mouth in a subconscious acknowledgement of the drool. "S-Sorry Lyds. I was just..." he trailed off, shrugging one shoulder as his cheeks grew hot with embarrassment.
Scott sighed and packed Stiles's books into his bag. "You were just getting the sleep you so desperately need but haven't been getting."
Stiles nodded and then crossed his arms leaning back in his seat. "Well since you two just so happen to know everything, what is the thought currently running through my mind right this very minute?"
Scott and Lydia exchanged a look but before they could say anything, Stiles was answering his own question.
"I'm Stiles Stilinski, an Alpha-less Omega. Why haven't they just told me I'm not good enough. If they did that, I could just be on my merry way to a bachelor life. Right? That o-or let me return to the world in my dreams because that was loads better than this! At least in the dreams..." he trailed off with a barely stifled sob. "At least in my dreams I'm an Omega that's wanted. Not a pathetic one that's unable to sleep because he's so desperate to hear his computer chime with an email saying he isn't going to spend another moment... alone."
His two best friends exchanged a look and then looked back at him with quirked brows.
Stiles slid down in his seat and sighed loudly as tears of frustration and anger formed. "Yeah. Okay. I get it."

Stiles was not having a good day, a good week or a good month so far and it was becoming increasingly obvious, not just to him but also to his friends as well. They were worried about him, and he supposed he should be grateful, but he was more embarrassed and annoyed than anything else. He was Stiles Stilinski, son of the best damn sheriff in the history of sheriffs and he wasn't a weak little thing to be pitied. This was what he told himself as he sat down at the desk in his small apartment and pulled out his laptop.
He began to compose an email to the service in which he was including some colorful language about where they could shove their stupid fairytale when he froze as an email showed up in his inbox. It was from Alpha Yours and he nearly choked on his own tongue when he clicked open, shaking in fear but once again he felt that flicker of hope blooming in his chest.
