You noticed him the first week of the games. Not because he stood out - Circle Guards weren't supposed to.
They were the lowest of the ranks. Quiet. Obedient. Practically invisible.Except he wasn't.
He lingered.
Not in an obvious way - just enough that your instincts picked it up.
And when you looked back, he didn't look away.
Even behind the mask, you felt it: his eyes, fixed on you, heat rising like a warning.
Or a promise.
---
You tested it.
Let your hand brush his glove when he passed your food tray.
Watched his shoulders twitch when you sat a little too close during the transport.
Smirked when you felt his stare trail over your neck while you stretched before the next game."You always look at the players this much?" you asked one night, catching him alone outside the dorm hall.
He tensed, then looked around. "You should be inside."
"You didn't answer the question."
He stepped closer.
"I'm not supposed to talk to you."
"Doesn't mean you don't want to."
Silence.
Then a sharp breath.
"Get inside," he said. But his voice wasn't commanding.
It was shaking.
And that's when you knew: you had him.
---
It built after that.
Stolen glances. Accidental touches that weren't really accidental.
He never said your name, but he always watched your mouth when you spoke.
He wasn't supposed to feel anything.
But when you leaned in and whispered, "Take off the mask for me,"
he didn't pull away.He hesitated - then slipped it off, just enough for you to see his mouth.
His jaw was clenched. Lips parted. Breath uneven.
"Now what?" he asked, voice hoarse.
You leaned in until your nose almost brushed his.
"I want to hear how you sound when you break the rules."
---
The first time he kissed you, it was like a dam snapping.
Desperate. Pent-up. A release he didn't know he needed.
His hands gripped your hips too tight, and you pushed him against the wall with a growl.
"Thought you were the obedient type," you teased.
His breath hitched. "Not with you."
You smirked, voice dropping. "Good."
Because you didn't want gentle.
You didn't want safe.
You wanted raw.And he gave it to you.
Pressed against cold metal, your shirt bunched in his fists, his mouth hot and hungry, tongue dragging over your bottom lip before he bit it just enough to make you groan.
---
You guided his hand under your waistband, letting him feel the heat he caused.
"You still gonna pretend this isn't happening?" you whispered against his jaw.
His voice cracked. "I've thought about this since day one."
"Yeah?" You teased his earlobe with your teeth. "What do you think about when you stare at me like that?"
His breath hitched.
"You. Under me."
You chuckled low in your throat, grinding your hips against his. "Careful, Circle. You're starting to sound like the dangerous one."
He kissed you again - deeper, rougher - and this time, he took the lead.
"Then stop teasing," he growled.
You let him.
---
After that, everything burned hotter.
Every glance in the hallway. Every whisper in the dark.
Every time he guided you into a shadowed corner and pushed you against a wall with shaking hands and a desperate mouth.
You were his secret - but he wore that tension like a badge.
And you? You loved the power of it.
Loved the way he broke just for you.
