Chapter 6.

Jay returned to the Monastery. He felt so much better. The visit to his parents had helped him a lot. When he opened the doors of the Monastery, a tense air had struck him directly in the face. He was confused and a little worried, he felt that something was happening. He hadn't felt such a tension in the air in a long time.

He had started looking for the rest. The first to find was Zane, putting the dishes back together. Jay approaches him.

"Hey Zane." He greets him with a smile.

"Oh, hey Jay." Zane turned to him. "How was your visit to Edd & Edna?"

"Invigorating. I calmed down a little." He smiled at him.

"I'm glad you're feeling better."

"Zane, what happened in my absence?" He had turned to his question marks.

The Nindroid looked at him for a moment. "Why do you ask?"

"I feel like something happened.. I feel tense."

"You should sit down."

"Oh no.. Is it serious!?"

"..a little bit.."

Jay quickly sat down in a chair, as did Zane. The Nindroid had quickly flipped through its data system the best ways to tell it what had happened in the last few hours.

"Today.. You know Kai has to stay with Morro today, don't you?"

"Yes..?" He was beginning to suspect something bad had happened in his absence. He knew Morro was afraid of Kai and Lloyd.

"Well.. things weren't too rosy. Morro dropped a picture dear to Kai on the floor and.. I guess you know how he reacted."

"I guess.. What happened to Morro after screaming?"

"He ran away from the monastery."

"WHAT!? It's OK!? Did you guys find him?!" He panicked.

"He's okay, Jay! We found him." Zane tries to calm him down with this information.

"Oh Thanks You FSM... Where?"

"Down on a pontoon. It was cold and he was shaking from what Cole said when he took him in his hands. But on the way home, Kai carried him. He used his powers to warm him."

Jay was a little quiet to process the information, then looked at nindroid again. "Something else?"

"Morro is Wu's son."

"PARDON!?!"

"Yes.. He had admitted to adopting him a long time ago. Years. Decades maybe."

"And Why Didn't He Say Anything So Far!?"

"Because he doesn't remember anything. He wanted to let Morro calm down, maybe he'll recover a little..."

"... Where is Morro now?"

"In his room. I think he's still sleeping."

"Okay.. Zane, I have to tell you something. I think I should have said this earlier.. but... Morro is afraid of Kai and Lloyd."

"We all suspected Kai. But Lloyd.. I didn't expect that."

"Neither do I, but it's the truth." He got up slowly from his chair. "I think it's time to see how Cole it is with all this. Talk to you later Zane."

He greets him back. The freckle didn't even make it to the bedroom hall because he could hear fast footsteps coming toward him.

"Jay!!" Morro's voice was heard, taking his legs into a hug. "I missed you."

The blue ninja put his hand on the child's fine black hair. "Me too. Do you want to talk?"

Forest eyes looked up, nodding. "Please..."

Jay smiled at him, took his hand and led him to his room. Morro sat down on the soft, sky-blue bed. The freckle sat down next to him.

"What happened today?" Jay asked slowly. He already knew what happened, but he needed to hear from him too. To help him open up.

"Well.. Kai called me out and put me on some stairs while he was training with Zane.. Then he took me to his room. I saw a picture on his furniture and I wanted to take a closer look. When Kai left the room, I got up and took it. The door suddenly opened and scared me.. the picture broke... He shouted at me and said that no one wants me and to leave... I ran away from the Monastery and reached a pontoon. I felt bad.. guilty..." Morro slowly started crying again.

Jay took it lightly, resting the kid head on his lap.

"And I sat there.. I cried and I kept crying... Until a girl made of water appeared!" He lay on his back, his face lit up, his head still on Jay's lap. "She had a sweet, calm voice! You could hear the sea in it."

"Girl.. made of water...?" Jay stared at him in shock, feeling his throat dry.

"Mhm! Her name is Nya. Kai's sister.."

"Did you see Nya...?" Eyes slowly filled with tears.

"Yeah.. Are you okay?" He asked in a worried voice.

"Yes, yes.." Jay wiped away his tears quickly, smiling at the boy. "..Something else?"

"N-no.. I don't think so.." He paused to think if he had forgotten anything. "Oh! I sat on the roof with Lloyd today."

"O-OH. Really?"

"Yeah! It was.. surprisingly enjoyable. I was scared at first.. I didn't know how he would react.. But it was good! But I don't think he'll want to spend time with me anymore... "

"Why do you say that?"

"I still feel like he doesn't like me... I feel that way a lot."

Jay looked at him, smiling warmly. "Don't say that, I'm sure Lloyd would like to spend more time with you."

"Maybe... But Kai certainly won't want to. I screwed up.. he hates me. He hates me."

"He doesn't hate you. Don't think like that. Everything is okay. Give him time, please."

He thought for a while. "..Okay.. I'll try. Lloyd was right, you came back when I woke up." He smiled tenderly.

"Lightning fast."

"Kai." Lloyd said his name, watching him walk from one end of the room to another. "It was an accident."

"Don't tell me you got used to Morro after all he did to you." The fiery one said harshly.

"A little.. He's just a child now- "

"I know that! I know that."

"Then prove that you know." His words were harsh, like a leader.

Kai stopped, looking at the blonde. "Don't tell me you accept Morro."

"Not really.. But I'm trying. You know his rank now."

"Yes, yes.. Wu's son. Adopted. So he's not really part of your family." 'He's not so important.'

"No. No.. But that doesn't stop me from trying to understand him. Especially, maybe he's changing. Maybe it won't be the same Morro we have met in the past. He doesn't remember anything. So we can.. change him. We can shape him, Kai."

"It's an idea.." It really was one. One that he would make the most of it. He doesn't forgive Morro, and he doesn't think he'll ever do it.

"Kai. What do you have in mind?" Lloyd asked, feeling, knowing the Fire Master.

"Nothing, nothing.. Stay calm."

'I'm curious how long he will last.'
