Fallon was always the reserved, she-wouldn't-hurt-a-fly type in high school. No one really knew her, yet she's lived in Port Harbor all her life. Beautiful, offbeat and with an affinity for the classical age, she's walked in the shadow of her "celebrity" mom and indie band vocalist brother for as long as she can remember. When sophomore year rolls around, she meets new kid in town Dean. No one really knew where he came from and he'd never really say, but they were inseparable until Fallon moved to Washington with her family the summer before junior year.
Now a college sophomore, she's back in the sleepy town where everything and everyone has changed, especially the boy she had fallen in love with. They are both different people now, running in different circles with different interests, like strangers — and Fallon has every intention of keeping it that way. Otherwise, it'll hurt too much all over again. Because if there's anything more painful than reminiscing the past, it's facing it and then letting it go.
Here's to the highs and lows of first love. May it flourish for however long it intends to.
