Chapter Six:

Snakes POV:

I woke up and smelled fresh bacon in the air. I looked around and saw that I was wrapped up in the sheets of Sophi's bed.

I got up and stretched. I grabbed my shirt from where it laid on a chair and put in on before heading down stairs.

"Morning Snake," Sophi said, turning around with a smile and placing a huge plate of pancakes on the table.

"Good morning," I said, "do you have any coffee?"

She nodded and pointed to cabinet above the sink, "the coffees in there and the coffee pot is in the pantry. I don't use it often."

I set about making coffee while Sophi finished breakfast. We sat at the table and ate in silence.

"So I have to work tonight, but I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go get something to eat when I got off?" Sophi asked me.

I nodded, "sure. I'll pick you up."

"You don't have to do that," she said.

I shook my head, "I don't want you to have anymore problems."

She sighed but agreed.

"Snake."

I looked at her over my coffee mug.

"What do you call what we've been doing?"

"What do you mean?"

"Are we just hanging out as friends or are we dating?" she asked, biting her lip.

"Well I did say I liked you last night. And I do. Would you like it to be dates?"

She nodded shyly, "but I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

"I would like that too," I confessed, "but I'm not the most romantic so I hope you're not going to be disappointed."

She smiled brightly, "I won't be. I just like being with you."

Sophi's POV:

"So Sophi, you want to come over and watch the live stream with me?" Chelsea asked me, going through the inventory in the shop.

I shook my head, "Can't. I have a date."

Chelsea stopped what she was doing and looked at me, eyes wide and jaw dropped, "WHO?!"

I sighed, "Chels. Don't worry about it. It's just a guy. I've been hanging out with him a lot the past couple weeks."

"Is is SNAKE?!" She asked, practically running over to the desk, looking like she was going to explode.

"Chelsea. It doesn't matter who it is. And if it was, which I'm not saying it IS, I wouldn't tell you."

She gave me a hurt look and glared, "Why the fuck not?"

"Because," I said, closing the register and locking it, "You're a crazy fanatic about them. Why would I tell you? You would spazz every where and make it so awkward and not be able to keep your mouth shut."

"Well fine. Fuck you too," she said, storming off.

I groaned and walked over to the open sign and turned it off. I looked at my watch, Snake will be here soon. Hopefully Chelsea will be gone before he gets here. I left the door unlocked so that he could get in without a problem. I went back to the counter and played a few rounds of Street Fighter on my phone. I could hear Chelsea angerily throwing stuff around in the back. I rolled my eyes.

The bell dinged above the door and I looked up with a smile expecting Snake but nope. It was that Stanley guy or whatever from the video store.

"Hey," he said giving me a smile, "remember me?"

I shrugged, "Yeah. You work at the video store. Sorry but we're actually closed."

He frowned, "Oh. Well I was hoping, when I saw you in here from the window, that maybe you'd like to join me for dinner or something."

I sighed and shook my head, standing up, "Sorry Stanley-"

"It's Steven," he grumbled.

I blushed and apologized, "Sorry Steven. But I actually have plans tonight."

"Oh, well are they not something that could be rescheduled?"

I glanced passed him and at the front door, praying Snake would come in and give me an excuse to leave.

"No, they're not," I said, shooting him a glare.

He nodded slowly, "Okay, um, maybe another time?"

Chelsea came out of the back room.

"Sir, we're closed," She said coming over to the counter.

I could tell that Chelsea was still pissed at me, but I hoped she could tell by the look on my face that I wanted this man gone.

"I just came to ask this young lady out to dinner," Steven said, putting his hands in his pockets.

"And I told you-" Chelsea cut me off.

"We. Are. CLOSED," she said, emphasizing every word.

Steven gave her a glare, "I wasn't talking to you when I came in here. I don't know why you are getting involved."

"Stanley, Steven, what ever the hell your name is, please leave," I said.

"My name is STEVEN. I've told you that before."

"Well STEVEN, get out of our store before we call the cops," Chelsea said, her hand reaching for the phone behind the counter.

"There's no need."

i jumped at the voice, I hadn't noticed anyone else coming in. But god I was thankful and I gave Snake a smile.

"Hey," I said, giving him a wide smile.

"The store is closed. These lady's asked you to leave politely. I suggest you do as they ask," Snake said. He was standing there, very cool and collected but you could tell that his guard was up and he was ready for anything.

"If they're closed, why are you in here?" Steven countered with a smirk.

"I'm here to pick up my date," Snake said, nodding to me.

Chelsea looked at me and mouthed the words, "He's hot."

I blushed.

Steven looked at me and then back at Snake, "Fine. Whatever."

He headed out the store. Snake followed him to the door and locked it behind him.

"So. You're Snake. I know that voice," Chelsea said, pointing at Snake then at me, "You ARE dating Snake. Why wouldn't you tell me?"

"I told you why. Will you please keep your mouth shut?" I begged her, "Don't ruin this for me."

Sighed she nodded, "Yeah yeah. I'll be quiet."

"Thanks Chels," I said, grinning and giving her a quick hug, "Do you mind closing up?"

SHe shook her head, "Nah. You guys go have fun. But not too much. I expect to hear you on the stream tonight, Mister Snake."

Snake gave her a nod and followed me out the store.
