“Do you realize how dumb of an idea that is?!”

Jin's question wasn’t entirely bad. It was rhetorical, but Mina felt the need to answer.

“Oh, the world is filled with dumb decisions, Jin.” She said, leaning back on the armchair she was relaxed into “Look at Tinder, for example! That was a pretty dumb decision and people still use it!”

Emily raised an unimpressed eyebrow at her sister.

“Mina, this is dangerous!” Jin deadpanned.

“So is Tinder!” She continued, leg crossing over the other and a sassy smile appearing on her lips “I know you’re a little on edge about it, but really, it’s no big deal. Most demons are nocturnal to avoid human exposure. And all we have to do is get to Luna's store.”

“If it makes you feel any better, one of you could come with us. Although it shouldn’t be a problem.” Emily insisted, trying to lighten the situation.

Jin looked at Amelia, sitting cross legged on the couch, with Jungkook leaning on the arm of the couch. She raised her eyebrows.

“Don’t look at me, I had no part in this. I keep arguing with you people and you don’t give a shit.”

Yoongi chuckled at her bold comment, with Jin shaking his head.

Apparently, the twins wanted to take Amelia out of the house to take her to Luna, who would make a potion to help her health. But they wanted to go by themselves and in plain daylight. And Jin wasn’t having it. Neither was Jungkook, but he wasn’t voicing it.

“Out of the question. Just give her directions to my house. Or, even better, one of my brothers can just go pick her up.” Jin tried to negotiate, with Mina and Emily looking at each other.

“See, that’s the thing…” Emily began.

“Oh, fuck me, what?”

Mina snorted, her side smirk making an appearance.

“We don’t know if she’s in town. Luna’s not answering our calls.”

“And really, with Luna, there’s two options.” Mina interrupted “She’s either dead or out of town. By the way she hasn’t invited us for tea yet, I'd say she’s dead… But, you know, you gotta be positive and shit, so I like to believe it’s the other way around.”

“But if she’s not in town what’s the point of going there?” Jin was slowly but surely beginning to get annoyed.

“Luna usually has a batch there. And even if she doesn’t, we can always find a way to get in contact with her. It'll still be helpful, even if she’s not there.” Emily explained, desperately trying to get Jin to understand.

“Remind me again why Amelia has to go?” Jin rubbed his temples again and Emily sighed.

“Luna will need to draw blood from Amelia for the potion. It’s supposed to be how the potion heals her and takes effect… I don’t know, alright? Luna does, that’s what matters. And the upside to it is this way she doesn’t know where you live… That’s why you live in the middle of nowhere, isn’t it?”
Jin sighed one more time, really vexed at the idea.

“Isn’t Amelia too weak to go out?” Namjoon asked, scrunching his nose.

“Yes, she is!” Jin said, still eyeing the twins like they were insane.

The older vampire was about to say something when a pillow flew across the room, beelined with precision, and a ridiculous amount of strength, directly to Namjoon’s mug. The guy released an ‘oof’ sound and a small grunt.

“Call me weak one more fucking time and I swear I’ll rip out your balls!” Amelia growled, her anger clear and evident as she pinned Namjoon with a glare and then flipped her stare to look at Jin, while Jungkook drew on a cocky smile “And I’d appreciate it if you stopped talking like I’m not here, thank you very much. And no, I’m not that weak, anymore.”

She wasn’t lying… It had been a week since the twins arrived and the healing energy they sometimes provided was working to make her stronger. The only thing that still lingered was the high temperature. Her fever had stopped at 38 degrees and wasn’t giving in. She took the antibiotics but they hadn’t worked at all, so there wasn’t much they could do to make that better. They knew, now, what it was, as well.

And, really, Namjoon hadn’t really stopped talking about the moment Amelia had ‘gone all ninja’ and took Yoongi’s gun to point it at Emily with precision.

“So you agree to this?” Jin asked, a little awestruck.

“Oh, now you remember to ask my opinion?” The woman sarcastically said, blinking slowly and giving Jin a very not amused glare.

“What if something happens?” Jungkook asked, still a little reticent about this.

“Like I said, one of you could come with us. And do you seriously not know what a Witch is capable of?” Emily insisted and this time Mina chuckled throatily.

“They’re not damsels in distress, Jin.” Amelia butt in, looking at Mina’s dark stare.

“Alright… But Yoongi is going with you. And before you start arguing with me, Jungkook, guns.”

Jungkook frowned, scowling deep at his older brother. He didn’t like the fact Amelia was going out, much less the fact she was going without him. His brain was sending signals all over, telling him he couldn’t leave her to go alone… Well, not that she was going alone, but he didn’t know Mina and Emily, or if they truly had the power to really protect Amelia.

He wanted to be there.

“Guns?! That’s your argument?”

“Yoongi is better with them. And I think it’ll be fine as long as Amelia sticks to the twins.”

“My guy?” Mina called, her blue eyes sticking to Jungkook’s and focusing on them. She just stared for a few seconds, the sky blue filling with a sort of reassurance that Jungkook had never seen before… He trusted her, then “I’ll protect her, you have my word.”

Amelia crossed her arms and scowled.

“You bunch of dumbasses are still talking like I don’t exist…” She mumbled, still quite annoyed.

An hour later, Amelia was walking inside Yoongi’s room, slowly, almost shy. She peeked inside and softly called him, and then spotted him in front of a dark colored closet, with both doors open.

“Hey, what’s up, witchy?” He said, pulling on his leather jacket and smiling at her.

“Hey… Can I ask something of you?” She mumbled low, barely walking inside the room. Yoongi smiled again and nodded “This is gonna sound weird, but… do you think you can lend me a gun?”

Yoongi’s brows went up and a smirk made his way into his pink lips.

“You want a gun?” He asked, an amused tone dancing in his voice.
Amelia nodded, making her way inside. Yoongi was surprised to see her finally wearing jeans, black, with one of the sweaters Ellie had brought her, this one a soft color of beige. But she had a dark denim jacket on her, that, by the look of it, belonged to either Emily or Mina.
Different from the usual cotton leggings and loose sweater look that she wore all the time.

“Well, you know…” Amelia shrugged and slumped a bit on his desk chair “Since I’m pretty much a useless Witch, now, might as well at least have a way to defend myself.”

Yoongi’s smile softened a bit. He pulled out a Glock from the drawer and made sure the safety was on and the barrel was loaded and then proceeded to take two magazines as well. He made his way to Amelia and crouched in front of her, verifying the gun again.

“You know how to use this?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.

“You’d be surprised.” She said, a slow smile showing.

“So you don’t need me to explain how to work it?”

“I can handle it, Yoongi, believe me.” She insisted, extending her hand to him.

Yoongi sighed “Jungkook finds out and I’m dead, you know that?”

“I need to defend myself. Like I said, downstairs. Witches aren’t damsels in distress. And sure, I’m probably a wreck, at the moment, but I don’t like to be dependent of someone.”

He smiled, then. Jungkook sure made an amazing find, with this one, huh? Through all that, she stayed strong and determined, voice not wavering for a second and eyes showing a strength he hadn’t yet seen in anyone else. Especially considering what she’d been through.

“You’re not useless, Amelia.” She scoffed when he said that “I mean it. When Jungkook smiles your way, you’re not useless. When he laughs and spends more time with us instead of isolating himself, you’re not useless. Understood? You’re not useless.”

Amelia stared at him, taking in the things Yoongi had just said and she smiled sadly. Yoongi passed her the gun and got up with her, while Amelia placed the gun on her belt and the two magazines on the pockets inside her denim jacket.

“I’m hoping nothing happens and you don’t have to use that, but I also kind of want to see you use it. I’m curious.” He joked, adding more ammo to the inside pockets of his jacket.

“Bet you are…”

And then fifteen minutes later, the four of them were walking out of the door. Emily and Mina had already began to bicker among themselves and Yoongi discovered it didn’t upset or annoy him at all. Apparently, he liked hearing Emily’s voice. A lot. If this were the other six men he lived with, Yoongi would’ve most likely kicked someone already. The twins were different, though. They were borderline chaotic and hilarious, their conversation filled with nasty jokes, snarky remarks and sarcastic laughter from Mina.

Emily had decided to pester Mina over her heels.

“Are you seriously wearing stilettos for this?”

“Well, duh! They make my ass look good, why wouldn’t I?” Mina retorted, an obvious smirk plastered on her lips.

“Why, in Goddess’ name, does your ass need to look good?”

“I mean, my ass already looks good on its own, so the stilettos are just an added bonus. However, if one’s ass doesn’t look good, their confidence goes down the drain. Take time for your ass, sis. Your ass deserves it!”

Emily actually brought her palm to her forehead, completely dumbfounded over her sister’s speech.

Amelia was smiling a bit, sitting quietly on the passenger’s seat. Ever since Mina had arrived, Amelia seemed to smile more often. Very softly and small. And the smiles never reached her eyes. But it was an improvement, and one that Yoongi was happy to see. He had taking a liking to the girl and more so because Jungkook was so different.

All of a sudden, Yoongi felt soft, warm, elegant hands coming to his shoulders and sliding down his chest seductively.

“Can I ask you something, handsome?” Mina purred lowly, bringing her warm lips close to his ear so that Yoongi could feel her hot breath.

“Mina, he’s driving.” Emily said, a bit annoyed “If I die because of you, I’ll murder your ass.”

Mina snickered, placing her chin on the pillow of the driver’s seat and then crossing her arms in front of his chest.

“I’m just curious about something…” The redhead continued “So, the cutie that opened the door for me, the other day. I never got his name.”

“Oh, Jimin?” Yoongi asked, frowning but smiling in amusement.

“Ah, that’s his name?” When he nodded, Mina giggled sensually “Sweet… He’s the shy type, isn’t he?”

“You could say that. He doesn’t really like interacting with women. I only know what Jin told us, that he found Jimin wandering the streets when he was about to transition. So, really, who knows what the hell he could have been through.”

He stole a glance at Mina’s beautiful face, that was right by his shoulder, and found her pouting while a look of thought flooded her eyes.

“Why? Did something happen?” He asked, frowning in worry now.

“See, the thing is… He was clearly interested in me, and I saw the way he looked at me but not once did he try anything.” She seemed very intrigued at that, almost like her head couldn’t wrap around such a thing.

“And I highly doubt he’s going to try anything for a while, babe, sorry.” Yoongi said, smiling.

Mina pouted for bit, clearly disappointed.

“I think it’s the first time I’ve seen you disappointed over a guy not being interested.” Emily said, narrowing her eyes at her sister.

“Of course I'm disappointed, did you get a good look at him?!” Mina said, looking at her sister like she was crazy “And he was interested. Guess he’s just too shy to do anything.”

“I think you just need to go slow with him.” Yoongi said, chuckling.

Emily snorted “Slow is non-existent in Mina’s dictionary.”

“No, it ain’t!” Mina defended, taking one hand to her hip while the other still lingered in Yoongi’s chest “I can go slow… Maybe I'm not used to it, but I can.”

“Just go easy on him, Jimin is nice.” Amelia finally said, smiling at Mina.

“I will, don’t worry. Oh, turn left and Luna’s store is at the end of the street.” She said, pointing in the direction Yoongi was supposed to turn.

He did as told, Mina then letting go of him and returning to her spot on the seat behind him. Yoongi looked ahead of the street, seeing the store Mina had referred to. The store stayed in the center of the town, in the more suburban area. There were a lot rundown buildings there, a few other shops and convenience stores and lots of clubs and bars. He knew the place, since Ellie’s bar wasn’t that far away, only a few blocks down.

The street he had entered now was an alley and the building at the end of it was a two story one, with said store on the first floor. It was labeled as an apothecary and it was currently closed. Yoongi parked just a few meters away from the place, the girl’s beginning to get out of the car.

“It’s closed, you think she’s really out of town?” He asked, looking at Amelia.

“I’d like her not to be…” She mumbled, probably hopeful for that potion.

“I'll go check, I know she keeps a key hidden.” Emily said, going up to the front door of the store and then looking around the place to find the key.

Mina was frowning, still evaluating the small building.

“What?” He asked, seeing her so serious.

“You hear that?” Mina queried, blue eyes now turning to him.

Yoongi focused for a second, not really hearing anything in particular “I don’t hear anything.”

“Exactly. Something’s off.” Mina walked to her sister “Em, you and Amelia go inside. Me and Yoongi will stay outside to check on things.”

Emily didn’t question it and simply opened the door with the newly found key, swiftly moving inside, followed by Amelia. There were a couple gasps from inside, to which Yoongi frowned and then jogged to go peek inside the store.

Emily and Amelia were amidst the chaos, standing there surprised. The whole place was trashed. There were plants crashed and spread along the floor, broken jars with their strange contents all over. Not one single thing was on the shelves, books were all teared and ripped and he could even see one strange liquid flooding the far corner.

“What the fuck… I'm guessing she ain’t here, right?” He asked, looking at Emily.

“I'll go see upstairs real quick.” She said, moving to run upstairs fast.

“Hey, witchy?” Yoongi called, looking back at Amelia. She was examining one of the books that was on the floor “What you got there?”

“One of Luna’s books. I’ll take this to the car, if you don’t mind.”

“Sure thing. Was about to tell you to go back to the car. Mina’s a little on edge.” He said, watching her get up and move towards him.

Amelia went back to the car, placing the book inside. She didn’t get in, though, deciding to wait for the twins and Yoongi to come back. Mina was restless though…

“Where’s Em?” The redhead said, looking at Yoongi after seeing Amelia pass by.

“Went upstairs to see if it was bad as well.”

As if on cue, Emily came out of the store, looking a bit pale.

“The whole place was trashed. You think they took Luna as well? There’s no trace of her, it’s like she hasn’t been here for months now.” Emily said, brushing her hair with her fingers.

“Crap… I hope those fuckers don’t have her too, we need- “

Mina was half way through her words when the clicking of guns echoed through the silence of the alley way.

“Hands up.”

Yoongi whipped around to find six men, aiming at them with their engaged guns, black eyes set on the three.

“What do we have here? I knew the little Alchemist bait in there would end up bringing us something. Sure took some time, tough.” One of them drawled, his smile growing a bit cruel when he analyzed the twins.

“Worth it, though. Look at all that red.” A second one said, smiling as he took a long look at Mina.

The first man gestured to one of the others “Get them in the car and go tell the others to wrap up. And I want all three of them tied up.”

None of them moved, only allowing four of the demons to surround them, the stench of rotten flesh flooding the air. Yoongi started to look around the area, trying to look for a way to escape the situation, starting to feel restless. Mina was now being tied, the demon behind her taking the liberty to step real close to the woman and getting a whiff of her scent.

But then his eyes focused on the Jeep… Yoongi chuckled, his eyes becoming a dark shade of red. All the demons stopped whatever they were doing, taking a look at him.

“The fuck you laughing at, bloodsucker?”

Yoongi smiled darkly “You bunch of dumbasses can’t count.”

The three gunshots that followed all hit one demon each, all of them on the head. The demon behind Mina stiffened and tried to pull the woman back with him only to let out a loud cry. Yoongi looked over for a second, only to see Mina’s hands glow red and orange, tattoos and eyes glowing an impressive shade of an orangey red as sparks of fire erupted from her skin.

Hum… Interesting!

Amelia’s shots were dead on, her aim flawless as she aimed at the demons and shot a few more times. The problem was, now that the gunshots had resounded in the empty alleyway, ‘the others’, as the first demon had referred to, were now making their way to where the noise was. Not long after, Yoongi had pulled out his gun and was hiding with Emily behind one car, shooting back at the demons that were now hiding on the inside of the herbal shop.

Mina had run back to where Amelia had been originally hiding, behind Yoongi’s jeep. Amelia snickered when she saw Mina duck behind the car.

“What, came to protect my ass?” She joked.

“To be honest, at this point I’m hoping you’ll protect my ass.” Mina joked back, her smile almost contagious.

“Em?”

“With Yoongi on the other side.”

“Oh, she’ll be fine, then.”

“I thought I was the only one who noticed.” Mina mumbled.

Amelia found an opening in the shooting and got up to aim at the ones inside the store. By now, Luna’s store was completely ruined, the ricocheting of the bullets only making things worse. She was able to hit two more straight in the chest and Amelia could see Yoongi give her an amused, proud look.

“Mina?” Amelia called, seeing the woman turn towards her “I have an idea…”

“Oh, boy. Does it involve Luna’s store blowing up?”

“Well, they are inside the store! And let’s be real, the place is already a mess. I’ll cover you.” She justified, shrugging.

“Yeah, so let’s blow the place up, why don’t we?” Mina grumbled, but grinned, nonetheless.

Amelia aimed again, this time leaving her hiding spot. Yoongi cursed, when he saw the girl expose herself. Jungkook would murder his ass when he found out about the gun, as soon as the fucker found out about how she was putting herself in danger, Yoongi was gonna get skinned alive.

“I swear I’ll kill her!” Emily shouted, her eyes suddenly glowing a stunning bright blue.

Emily got up from her place and started to round Yoongi, coming forth to the front of the car. Her tattoos weren’t like her sister’s, Yoongi could tell the pattern was different. They also glowed blue, instead of the orangey red that Mina was also now sporting.

The twins were both now standing, one on either side of the street and with their powers ready to strike. Yoongi watched in a complete daze as they gracefully gestured with their hands, mirroring each other’s movements, where ribbons of fire appeared, blue for Emily and orange for Mina. The ribbons of magic surrounded them, their hand gestures now more certain and determined as they directed the fire towards the demons inside the store. Yoongi lowered his gun and reached for the inner pocket of his jacket to pull out his phone.

“Em, I’m going around the back!” Mina shouted, already running towards the back of the building.

“Who are you calling?” Amelia questioned, frowning when she saw Yoongi bring his phone to his ear.

“Jin.” Amelia rolled her eyes at the name, but said nothing, only waiting for Yoongi to start the conversation, while she changed the magazine of the gun with experienced hands.

“Hello?”

“Hyung… This was some sort of set up. There were demons waiting for us. The whole place was trashed when we arrived too.”

“Shit… Is everyone alright?”

Right on cue, another few gunshots were shot his and Amelia’s way.

“Fuck, Amelia, get down!!” Yoongi shouted, using his arm to surround her head and bring her body down with him “Everyone’s fine, don’t worry. But these fuckers seem to be popping up from the ground, a little help won’t hurt.”

Maybe Jin had Jungkook around him, because now Yoongi could hear the youngest’s voice, shouting at Jin.

“Hold on for a bit, we’re going.” Jin said, terminating the call instantly after.

Amelia glared at Yoongi.

“What?”

“Really? You called Jin?” She grumbled, her expression showing how annoyed she was at that.

“I know you trust them, witchy.” Yoongi started, referring to the twins “Believe me, I do too, as strange as that sounds. But we need to think straight, here. We need help.”

Amelia huffed, hating the fact that Yoongi was right. Demons usually hung out in clans. And, right now, it really seemed like the whole clan had made their way to the front of the herbal shop, because for one bitch she shot, another two would pop up and it was starting to get annoying.

“I really hope Jungkook doesn’t give me an earful…” She mumbled, wincing when a bullet hit the car she was hiding behind.

“You? I’m the one who’s gonna get an earful, young lady. Let’s hope he doesn’t kill me afterwards.”

“Oh, no, he can’t! You’re supposed to ask Em out.”

Yoongi almost choked on a molecule upon hearing that and then flushing when he turned and his eyes instantly focused on Emily’s figure.

Emily was currently closer to the front of the shop, with her back turned to both Yoongi and Amelia, her skin glowing beautifully with that bright blue reflected from her wrists and eyes. She was very accurate with the gestures and motions of her hands, controlling the blue flames inside the store. Fortunately, the brunette witch had been too busy to listen to Amelia’s comment.

Not that he wanted to deny it, but it would have been awkward.

Yoongi hurriedly sent the location they were at to Jin, while Amelia shot back at a group of three demons that had arrived not too long ago and hadn’t stopped shooting yet. Like previously, her aim was flawless and she hit them straight in the head.

And now it was only a matter of waiting for backup.
