Sometimes I wished my life was different. I wish my parents weren't always away or working. Sometimes I wonder if I was born in the wrong family. The moonlight shined down on me as I thought about my life.
I didn't have any friends, my family didn't care about me and I was insecure. The more I thought about my life, the more I got upset.
I leaned against the slightly cold slide. I always came to the playground to think. It reminded me of the childhood I've never really had.
A sudden noise broke me out my thoughts, I peeked around the slide to find a group of people coming into the park.
They looked slightly older than me. Three guys and two girls were coming in, laughing and joking around with each other. They didn't look like gang bangers so I was safe as far as I know. I took in their appearance a little more, they looked like they were going to prom or something.
Wierd. I recognized them from my school.
I glanced at them one more time before deciding it was time to go. I slid gently down the slide, laughing slightly like always. I looked up at the moon thinking how beautiful it is. Snap. Quickly I looked to where the sound came from.
The group that came into the park was staring at me different expressions on each of their faces. I got off the slide quickly and starting to turn away.
"Wait. Don't go, we didn't mean to interrupt you." A soft feminine voice broke out into the dark quiet night. I turned around, surprised at her words. What do they want? I looked out the girl who spoke out, she was pretty to say the least. I knew her.
She goes to my school and so does the other girl. The girl who spoke was Galeigh Hanks and the other was Sadie Weys. Nobody really messed with them before.
Galeigh spoke again "I know you. You're in one of my classes. I'm sorry but I forget your name." Her tone still soft. I nodded at her, surprised she knows me. "Mayla." I said to her quietly. She nodded at me. The group behind her was quiet but listening to our conversation.
Sadie's voice broke out this time. It was harder than Galeigh's but also soft.
"Hi! I'm Sadie. Mayla right? I love your dress! Wanna hangout with us?" She questioned already skipping over to me and grabbing my arm genly.
She pulled me towards the group before I could say no. Galeigh smiled at me before walking over to the black haired guy.
"Guys! This is Mayla. She's from our school. Lemme introduce you to the group. Okay the guy with the black hair is Jace, Galeigh's boyfriend, the blonde is Alex, he's mine." She said in a lovey dovey tone when she got to him. Aweee! That's cute.
"Last but not least Caden." She said pointing towards the muscular guy with shaggy brown hair.
Everyone smiled at me as I sat down with Sadie. "Hey. Uhm so what's with the outfits?" I questioned them. Galeigh and Jace laughed before they answered, "Oh we went to a club." They said like it explained everything. I nodded.
The wind picked up slightly and my blonde hair blew in the wind making me huff in anger. I looked up to find Caden looking at me with a small smile.
God he was handsome. His brown hair covered his bright blue eyes, he was muscular but not overly, his smile was so lovely and he had dimples when he smiled. He easily towered over me with his 6'4 frame. Well everyone towered over me with me being only 5 feet.
Everyone seemed to be in their own concersations and I felt really awkward. I never really talked to people before. I started fidgeting with the hem of my dress before taking the group in. They all seemed nice but a little rough around the edges.
"Mayla?" Sadie asked? I looked up at her, my head cocking to the side in question. "I was wondering if you finished the math homework that's due tomorrow?" She asked nervously. "Yes, it was pretty easy to be honest." I told her.
"Oh I was wondering if you could help me. Mr. Hanes said you're the smartest person in the class so I thought yannoe. You could help me maybe?" She asked playing with her dress. "I could help you tomorrow before class if you like?" Sadie nodded her head quickly.
"Thank you!" She practically squealed. I laughed softly at her antics. "Do you want to sit with us at lunch tomorrow?" Jace asked? I looked at them in shock.
Seriously? Oh god play it cool Mayla. "Sure." I said quietly. He grinned at me before going back to talk to Galeigh.
I heard a beep come from my jacket pocket. I took out my black Galaxy S5 and unlocked it. Come home now. It was a text from my mother. I groaned inwardly. I'm coming.
I texted back. "Hey guys. I have to go now." I said getting their attention. Galiegh and Sadie looked at me asking why.
"Oh my mother texted me. It was nice hanging out with you guys." I told them. They grinned at me before nodding in agreement.
"See you at lunch tomorrow!" Galeigh and Sadie shouted at the same time. I giggled waving bye to them. I turned around and started running home.
I lived in a nice house. It was a light blue two storied house with a nice yard. My parents like to keep up pretenses. Outside the house it was all smiles and happy faces but inside it was glaring and hateful glances.
They bought me car but I gave it back and took the money instead.
I donated some to charity. I liked helping people. I stood outside the door, smoothing down my hair and dress before entering the house. Turning the knob I entered quietly. I could hear the tv going and noises in the kitchen. I took off my boots before stepping in the kitchen. "Hey mom." I said greeting her softly.
My mother was a beautiful woman. I got my silvery curly blonde hair from her but my green eyes from my father. She looked up at me, glaring slightly before announcing dinner will be served soon.
"I'm not hungry." I said looking down on the floor. My mother huffed at me before nodding and dismissing me.
I took off to my room. Taking the stairs quickly and quietly. Opening up my bedroom door and going in quietly just as I heard my father yell something.
My room is pretty simple, the walls were purple and blue and I had my own ensuite. Yawning I thought about the park and the group from my school.
People never talked to me before. Maybe she only talked to me because she needed help. Oh well, we'll just see tomorrow I thought as my eyes were closing. The last thought on my mind was Caden and how cute he was.
Oh god. Don't tell me I'm crushing on the badboy. I'm the geek and he's the fighter.
