Kayla awoke from what seemed like a sleep that lasted about five minutes. She got ready and toasted some bread and grabbed her keys. The house was silent so she figured her mom was passed out, she must have thought too soon because sitting silently with her legs crossed and fully dressed her mother was there waiting to inroduce her to Brandon which was her moms new boyfriend. "Honey, come meet Brandon, my fiance." Kayla had her those sour words many times before. But this time seemed different seeing as how her last boyfriend told her that he was already married. "FIANCE!!??" She uncontrollably said. " How long have you even known him?" She asked frantically. The look that came across her mothers face said
How dare you. But instead of carrying on the conversation she just told her mom " never mind I have to go I am late for school." And slammed the door behind her. When she arrived at school that day everyone stared at her which she thought was not out of the ordinary because that was what they always did. After third period she headed to her car but was stopped by the mean girl of the school, Lisa. Whose main thrill was making everyone who wasn't in her cliques life a living hell pushed her into the slushy snow and soaked her jeans and her jacket. She ran to the bathroom and locked herself in a stall. She kept thinking about what else could go wrong that day. She couldn't help but to keep going back to this morning when her mother pretty much gave her the death glare. But once her clothes were dry or at leaste looked dry she decided to come out of fhe bath room with a strong face. As she opened the door she heard someone snore. What the heck she thought. " Oh, hi sorry I saw what that one girl did to you and wanted to see if you were okay." She was confused.
"I'm fine, thanks." She said
She went to walk away when she realized there was no one there.
"Um, where is everyone?"
" dont you know what time it is?"
She had lost track of time.and had a surge of worry go through her.
"Let me guess everyone is out of school already."
Her shot her a confused look.
" I thought you didn't know what time it was."
"Wait I was right?"
She started to walk towards the door when.the boy who ever so kindly decided to wait for her followed her.
" I'm Andy by the way." He said with a smile.
"Kayla."
As she opened the door he grabed her hand and stopped her to give her his jacket and said
" Its Cold Outside."
All Kayla could do was smile.
