Part 4

Believe it or not, trying to make your way through a forest when you were no bigger than the average quill... was difficult.

Kosai let out a squeak as a falling leaf struck her. She groaned, feeling the dirt under her. From above her, the leaf was removed and she met the heated glare of Bakugou. She stood up and pushed on past him.

"Are you trying to get killed by a literal fucking leaf?" He asked her, a sneer on his features.

"What do you think?!" Kosai snapped at him. "A leaf is now the same as a door or wall falling onto you!"

"Just fucking watch where you're going! Maybe then the shitty forest won't fucking kill you..." Bakugou muttered and took off in front of her.

Kosai rolled her eyes but continued on. The light was starting to dim and if they didn't have any... then it would most certainly lead to a lot more trouble. The village had to be near though! That pixie shouldn't have been able to carry them that far away!

The underbrush was thick. So while it was able to block them from the line of sight of any larger predators, it also meant neither of them knew what might be just before them until they literally ran into it.

For what felt like hours, the pair would have to stop and fend off creatures that should have not been so hard to pick a fight with. From frogs to beetles, each creature looked to find one of them appetizing and attempted to swallow Kosai or Bakugou the moment they saw them.

Their magic still worked though, so those animals were blasted with dragon fire or wind should to even attempt to snag them. The closest one had gotten was a frog that had wrapped its tongue around Bakugou, only to get its tongue burned. It had croaked away after that, obviously not happy that its meal was so mean.

Kosai wondered if Tsuyu would be upset, as the girl was found of frogs. But she could think about that more when they finally made it to town and were back at their normal size. And lucky them, she could see what looked like several torches before them.

Kosai's pace only increased at this and Bakugou too was running faster. The pair then let out chuckles, if not slightly out of breath. The village! They had made their way back and would be back to their normal size and soon! Now to just find that mage's house...

Gray eyes widened and suddenly Bakugou found himself getting tackled. He and Kosai tumbled against the ground, dirt kicking up as they did so. When they stopped, Bakugou threw Kosai off of him and glared at her.

"The fuck was that for-" Bakugou attempted to scream at her, but Kosai once more dragged him away.

Bakugou turned and saw exactly what was making Kosai look so terrified and Bakugou knew she wasn't full of bullshit as he saw the creature before then pair of them. It swished its tail back and forth, eyes watching them with intensity, and crouched down into a position that was ready to pounce.

"A cat?!" Bakugou screamed and then threw up his arms.

A burst of dragon fire came from him, trying to stop the attacking feline, but to his shock, the magic did nothing to the cat. Its claws were extended and the cat looked to be ready to feast on him once he was under its paw.

The back of his cloak was snagged and Bakugou felt himself getting thrown through the air. Kosai exhaled and looked back at the cat. She had made a good distance, but that thing still was coming towards them!

"Fuck! Why didn't my magic work?!" He huffed in and out as the cat came closer, stalking them like any predator would its prey.

"It has to be familiar if magic doesn't work on it!" Kosai told him and started to look around frantically. "We need to find somewhere to hide that it won't be able to follow us to!"

Bakugou for once agreed with her right away. His eyes scanned his surroundings and his carmine hues widened when he saw a tiny little opening in the side of a nearby home. That was it!

He pointed it out to Kosai and she understood. But the cat was between them and that little hole. So, they'd need to make sure they got there... and with wind and dragon magic- a combination might be enough to expel them both forward.

"Just this once..." Bakugou grumbled as their hands connected.

"Only to save our asses..." Kosai agreed.

Their magic began to sync and both could feel its increased power. The cat looked ready to try to catch them. This would be a close call, but it was their only choice. So with a final breath for both, they were ready to test their luck and strength.

With a scream, their combined magics burst out behind them and sent the pair flying past the cat. The feline attempted to swipe them out of the air and narrowly missed snagging them both with its claws. Bakugou and Kosai flew into the little crack in the wood of this house and then exhaled desperately.

They both backed up from the entrance and in the nick of time too, as a paw came through and tried to snag them. The sounds of low growling came from beyond the crack and a single feline eye looked at them.

"Ha! Can't get us now, fucker!" Bakugou screamed and then looked to Kosai. "Let's hurry it up and find who lives here! They should be able to take us to the shitty mage who can put us back to normal size!"

Kosai nodded and watched as Bakugou ignited a flame. The way through was dark and who knew what awaited them on the other side. But it was the only path they could take, so they started down the unknown path, hoping it would lead to the end of this unexpected adventure.
