The car ride to school was silent. Diya sat in the back, blissfully ignorant as to what was going to happen. Avril seemed wrapped up in her own world, humming a Taylor Swift song to herself.

I was freaking the fuck out. Today was the day Devin and I were going to bare all, tell Diya the truth. My stomach had twisted into knots and I nervously fumbled with my hands.

Avril parked in her usual spot and got out. My hand lingered on the handle, not wanting to leave the safety of the car.

"You coming?" Avril yelled.

"Y-yeah." I said, slowly getting out. Devin pulled up shortly afterwards and he smiled at me. He looked put together and confident whilst I was feeling like a shaky autumn leaf.

"Morning, kitten." He whispered so only I could hear. He poked me in the ribs and I yelped in surprise.

"What the heck?"

"Don't be so scared, Lea, you look like you've seen a ghost."

"I'm just anxious, you know. I wonder how she's going to react."

"Me too." He agreed.

"See you in class." I said walking off to find Avril. Today was going to be one hell of a day.

When lunch came around Avril dragged me to the cafeteria and sat me down immediately.

"Talk." She ordered.

"Devin and I are going to tell Dee after school today." I said immediately.

"Finally!" Avril exclaimed, "Although you should've done this ages ago. But better late than never."

"Right." I responded nervously.

"Oh don't be so scared, Lee. Think, soon you'll be able to fuck Devin in public if you want to!"

I laughed and picked up my fork to begin eating. "I haven't fucked Devin."

"You will though." Avril grinned through a mouthful of food.

Ryder and his goons appeared then, walking together like a gang of delinquents. They all seemed to think they were superior to everyone else and you could see that in the way they carried themselves. He had been ignoring me since we broke up and I was happy with that.

"Hello, gorgeous." Ryder greeted. He was looking directly at me with a lopsided grin on his face. I was taken aback since he hadn't spoken to me in a month.

"Um hi?" I scoffed.

"You're looking sexy today." He said. I raised my eyebrow in confusion. What the hell was he playing at?

"Thanks."

"Anything for you, sweetheart." He winked. The way his eyes glinted made me think he was up to something else and his words held some ambiguous meaning.

"Well that was weird." Avril said from next to me.

"Yeah, it was." I agreed trying to figure out what the hell Ryder Johnson was planning.

My heart beat faster as the final bell rang. I could feel it thudding against my chest. Sweat beaded on my brow and I quickly dabbed it away. My mind was reeling, thinking through ever possible worst case scenario.

Diya getting mad and telling my Father, Diya killing herself, Diya killing me!

My sister was as unpredictable as the weather. She may take the news lightly or she may go on a rampage after hearing it. I hurried to my locker and bumped into Devin along the way.
