The demon slayer's hand grips tightly onto the hilt of his sword, wary of the 'demon' in front of him. It just killed another of its own kind without a drop of hesitation.
And its eyes....it wasn't lying when giving him that threat...
"Well? Do not waste my time, human."
"Shut up. Demons like you have no right to even breathe."
The silver haired woman sighs, exasperated yet so soft you could barely hear it. Her gold eyes lock onto his.
"You wish to supervise the actions of this Kanjō, correct?"
"Because of your kind, humans suffer. You're lucky I haven't slit your throat by now."
She scoffed at the man.
"A human's arrogance is amazing. This Kanjō did not ask for your reason, only for an answer."
The man, still hostile, silently nodded.
With his confirmation, the woman begins to morph into another being. A giant, silver dog replaces the ground where the woman once stood, its maw dripping with poison.
"Get on."
"..."
"..."
"No."

"Human, when was the last time you've bathed? Your scent is disgusting to smell."
Her small nose wrinkles as she grimaces, the smell's enhanced stench giving her a headache along with the incessant insults from the slayer's mouth.
"I dare you to say that again, you mutt."
"This Kanjō will drop you in a lake if needed, human."
The two bickered as they approached the Ubuyashiki estate's Hashira meeting, though it seemed that the silver haired woman held a more elegant and mature air about her than the man beside her.
The sound of the chatter brought the attention of the various others who were there early.
The current Hashira tensed at the sight of the woman, her sharpened ears and claws did not go by unnoticed. So as with the man walking with her.
The woman takes a quick glance at red haired boy, taking notice of how battered and bruised he is. The young child is no more than fifteen years of age.
'A recent mission, perhaps?'
A white haired man with scars littered across his face and chest yelled out.
"Obanai! What is the meaning of this?!"
The sound of his footsteps are heavy against the gravel, approaching as he unsheathed his blade. The green sword is drawn brashly as he aims for the woman's neck.
Yet again, no matter the speed nor the strength, the blade was repelled with a simple flick of the finger.
'Obanai...so that's his name.'
"Is this how all you humans treat guests? What an unsightly display..."
"No guest of Oyakata-sama's would ever be a demon!!"
He readies another attack as the woman brings up a hand glowing with poison, but both halt their motions as a clear voice echoes throughout the area.
"Oyakata-sama is visiting!" A girl announced.
The doors slide open to reveal a black haired man, whose upper half of the face is covered by purple.
"So you have come...my cute swordsmen."
All the Hashira move to kneel before him, but the red boy and the silver woman stay where they are.
"Good morning, everyone. We have some really nice weather today. Is the sky blue?"
A moment of silence passed.
"Our members have gathered for the Hashira meeting we hold once every six months as per usual. I find this pleasurable."
The woman chooses to speak now when she's finished observing Oyakata-sama's face, and after watching the scarred man push the young boy's face into the garden.
"I see that it has finally taken your eyes, Kagaya."
It is Obanai who speaks up to discipline the 'demon'.
"You insole-"
"Hahaue-dono, you've made it here safely? Please forgive me for not greeting you sooner."
"Don't concern yourself over me...it's not like this Kanjō cares much for formalities."
The man, Kagaya, laughs in a gentle manner.
"That is true."
He pats the space next to him, letting her know it's okay to sit down. Her steps are light, barely noticeable as she strides towards his side.
The scarred man, finally having enough of the absurdity of the situation, speaks up.
"Oyakata-sama, if I may be so rude, what is the meaning of that demon being here?"
"Sanemi, Hahaue-dono is no demon, she is my guest."
"But she is clearly one of them! We should be taking her in for questioning and kil-"
Kagaya raises a single finger to his lips, and the one now known as Sanemi quiets himself.
"Have any of you ever heard stories of the yokai?"
Most of the Hashira shake their head in silence except for a man whose haori is halved. He blinks at the silver haired woman, feeling he should recognize the distinctive features on her face. A thought comes to his mind from early childhood, the time his sister spoke of a creature.

"Giyuu, beware of the man who bares the moon on his head. The moment you see him, it'll be too late."
"But Nee-sama, is he like us?"
"No. He's a powerful being, a daiyōkai. They don't take well to our kind."
"What's his name?"
She finds a stick and writes the familiar characters into the dirt. Two names are traced out onto the earth.
"Sesshom-"
A hand clamps down on his mouth.
"Don't speak his name, ever."

"Sesshomaru?"
Before he realizes, the name comes out of his mouth, and everyone's eyes are locked into him.
"So you seem to have heard of my brother's name. Tell me, where?"
He hesitates, voice getting stuck in his throat.
"From.....from my sister...."
"Oh? Then, who do you think this Kanjō is?"
It was weird, he thought, how she presented herself. You could catch the wisps of the older language from her tongue, but it was clear she was well bred. Her posture was straighter than most and she carried the poise that Oyakata-sama has as well.
"His sister, Inu no Kanjō-sama."
