*Emmiline pov*
I sat at the porch as I waited for mark and his men to come back from finishing their buissnes from the other night. We will be going to corpus and talk to a few people to come and help us get my father place back up and running.
Mark was telling me that we can't just get anyone to come help me, we had to get people we can trust and know that they're going to be there for you not just because of money. But I wouldn't even know where to start...I don't have any friends...nor know anyone.
I watched as a family pulled up to one of the houses on the other side of the street. I watched as they laughed with each other and looked so happy. I smiled.
"Hey Emmeline." I hear someone say behind me. I looked and saw that it was Caroline, she had a plate in her hand. "You need to eat something or your sugar will drop." She said handing me the plate which had a turkey sandwich on it with a side of potato chips. I gave her smile and thanked her.
"So you're leaving today?" She asked as she took a seat next to me. I nodded my head yes. "I've never been to corpus." I said before taking a bite of my sandwich. "I've been there once, when I moved over here they said I should go to corpus and go to the beach. I suggest you do that as well." She said with a smile.
"Did you go to school emmeline? Did you finish?" She asked looking down at my book bag that I was taking to school. "I was...but all this happened. But more important things happened so school isn't really on my mind at the moment. Especially since I was supposed to graduate last year so I basically got all the knowledge they could give me." I said.
"Did you meet anyone? Have any friends?" She's asked interested. I started to think about the time I went to school in Japan, I was a outcast. I didn't really talk to anyone but kept to myself.
Everyone looked down at me because I didn't have my parents, I only could afford two uniforms and some of my text books.
Then moving back to the United States, I was only in school for two days.
But...in those two days...I meet some very nice people. I started to think about David...
I shook my head, "nah, I just kept to myself." I said making Carolina look at me with such a sad face. "You should have had friends...but you're still the same as you were when you were younger, but I do wish you make some friends." She said looking at me.
I chuckled and nodded my head. " I'll take it to concentrate." I said. Suddenly two cars pulled up, The first car was Marks but I didn't recognize the second car. The doors open and out come mark and his men, followed by a few other guys. My eyes landed on a guy who wore a very nice black suit, he had blond hair. He looked about the same hight as mark, he wore sun glasses, unable to see the color of his eyes. I stood up and watched as they walked up to me.
"Let's head inside, we need to talk about a few things." Mark said in a serious tone. I nodded my head and headed inside, Caroline stood aside as she let everyone inside. "Caroline..can you give us a few, there's a few things that we need to talk about..." mark said. She nodded her head and headed upstairs leaving me and everyone else down stairs.
I took a seat crossing my legs as I leaned back and crossed my arms. "So..whats up?" I asked curious. "We'll for starters this is Alfred, he's a friend of mine from the north. The one we went to do a few things with and we were talking about you and about the situation. He didn't believe me at first but by the looks of it." He looked over at Alfred who just had his eyes glued on my, a drop of sweat rand down his forehead.
"You okay?" I asked concerned by the pale look on his face. "I'm sorry..it's just you look so much like your father..you're father was a scary man, a lot of people feared him. But he was respected very much." He said.
