Rose petals split all over the bed, with a bottle of champagne on table accompanied with two wine glasses for the bride and the groom, and the sweet aroma of the rosemary added up all to a perfect first night setup for the couple.
It was an hour around midnight. The moon was glowing up in the dark sky. A girl clad in white bridal gown was standing near the window, glancing the cherry blossom trees in the garden down. She looked no less than the moon. Her smile added to her beauty. Avni indeed a perfect name for the queen.
It was wedding night and she was waiting for her man to arrive. Though she never met him much before but just a glimpse of his photograph was enough to fall head over heels for him. She was expecting it to be a perfect night for them but the cruel destiny always turns the table around.
Soon she heard rotating sound of the door knob. It was him. He looked no less than some royal king in his three piece suit. He removed his coat and threw it on the couch and took step towards her.
He looked into her eyes like he wanted to convey something just through them.
"Neil I can't understand these eye talks , nor am I a mind reader . Tell me what you wanna say? Avni said chuckling a little.
" I don't love you. I will never be able to because my heart beats for someone else already. " Neil told her giving the biggest shock on the first night of the marriage.
" Who is that someone else? " Avni asked maintaining her calm not choosing to break down in front of him.
"Your best friend." Neil spoke while glancing her face.
"Alright.I will be your partner in helping you to get her. " Avni said with a smile on a her face though her heart broke into a million pieces.
" Really? Would you do that. Won't it be heartbreaking for you? " Neil asked showing concern towards her heart which he already broke into numerous pieces.
" Of course not. I hope we can be friends and help each other out . " Avni said looking down in order to avoid the tears which were threatening to follow down any moment.
" Of course. We will be great friends." Neil said lifting her head up .
" Yeah, now it is late at night let's get to bed. " Avni said avoiding to look into his eyes and walked to the restroom to change the bridal outfit.
