**important n/a at the end of the chapter I'll explain what the disorders are/what they cause because I didn't feel like making the characters talking on and on about them.**

Two strangers were in a room. They spent a couple moments in silence until one of the them decided to speak.

"Maybe we should introduce ourselves?" the boy said, although it had come out more like a question.

Neither of them knew how introducing each other would help. The awkwardness and the having a new sleeping buddy might be a little too much at the moment.

The girl simply nodded. But did not make an effort to start. Which the boy concluded that meant he would have to say something.

He thought a while. He didn't know how much he should tell her. So he decided to start off with the basics.

"I'm Michael Clifford. Turning 19 in two months. Diagnosed with REM Behaviour Disorder. I love gaming and writing. And am not particularly fond of parties or interacting with the human race."

The girl just sat in silence and Michael wasn't completely sure if that was a good thing. He thought he hadn't said much that she could judge him too harshly on.

So they both sat there. Examining each other-for different reasons-but not directly making eye contact.

The girl shifted in her seat. "Luna Casterwell," she started, already knowing Michael was questioning her name that her odd astronomy loving parents had given her.

"Currently 19, freakishly tall and part Latina. Narcolepsy sucks and sadly I have it. Frankly, I am possibly the only person in the world that hates coffee, tea and alcohol. But I enjoy parties and reading."

Both knew that their conditions couldn't be more different. The only similarity was that neither of them could sleep and had frightening dreams. That was most likely the only similarity between them entirely.

"So your name is Luna like a Lunar Eclipse?" Michael asked.

She rolled her eyes slightly at the idiotic question and stated, "I'm going to go home and get some sweats because I rather be in something more comfortable."

She disliked having to wear skinny jeans in public to look nice and preferred not to sleep in them either. The doctors not providing them with any information about this in advance caused her not to come prepared. Something she quite hated.

"Okay bye Lunar."

She rolled her eyes once more. Luna smiled at Michael before leaving. From that moment he was aware she would be doing that quite often. Although he didn't know which 'that' was: rolling her eyes, smiling or leaving. Possibly all three.

"It's Luna."

THIS IS THE PART WHERE I EXPLAIN THE DISORDERS NOW WOO

Michael-- REM Behavior Disorder:: this means he 'acts out' his dreams. as in he engages in physical activites occuring in his dream. it can cause: sleep walking, talking, shouting, hitting, screaming, and punching (there are even some cases of people flying out of bed).

Luna-- Narcolepsy:: means she experiences excessive daytime sleepiness. also she experiences hallucinations (in her dreams and they are usually frightening, but sometimes when she is awake as well) and sleep paralysis (not being able to move or talk while you are somewhat sleeping/awake for a couple seconds-minutes)
