[Camille]

I sighed and put my bag on the ground in the hallway, straightening my back again to take off my backpack and placed it next to my bag with my pajamas and clean clothes for the upcoming week.

Jasmine closed the front door of her house behind me, sighing heavily because of our bike ride with a big amount of headwind.

I hadn't biked the last street of the ride alone with James this time but with Jasmine, only seperating from the group in the last moment possible as her house was at the end of a short and quiet dead-end side street.

"Thanks again for letting me stay here" I mumbled with a thankful smile on my face, and a smile appeared on her own, sighing relieved that we were home.

"Oh, it's no biggie" she waved it off, her cheeks a bit red from the cold and her hair tousled because of the wind.

We both took off our jackets and shoes and then went upstairs to her room, taking my backpack and extra beige tote bag with us.

Once in her large room, I put them on the ground against the wall in a place where they wouldn't be in the way, almost being overwhelmed by how much bigger her room was than mine; I'd always admired that it was big enough for a double bed, I used to want that as a little kid.

Jasmine noticed that I was scanning her room carefully and chuckled, making me smile as well.

"Alright, let's start with our homework" Jasmine suggested and I nodded, walking back to my backpack and taking out my history book for our task.

After I'd grabbed my dark grey pencil case, we went downstairs again and sat ourselves down at the large dining table in the living room, her younger sister sitting down on the couch and watching some TV.

Me and Jasmine sat down next to each other and started our homework together; I greeted her mother when she came home from work and before I knew it, it was dinner time and I was sitting down at the kitchen table with Jasmine's family: her, her mother, father and sister.

They'd just ordered some pizza and we were all eating it in silence, her mother suddenly breaking it.

"I hope you don't mind that it's just pizza, but I suspected that you wouldn't" she stated and I chuckled, knowing that it was a common known fact that my favourite food was pizza. I shook my head. "No, I really don't mind."

Her mother nodded with a smile and looked at me, curiosity and warmth sparkling in her eyes.

"Alright, Camille, be honest with me" she suddenly started seriously, and I wondered if she was actually going to ask me something serious or not. A silence fell over everyone at the table, a nervous feeling starting to rise in my stomach.

Her mother stared at me. "What's going on between Jasmine and Max?" she asked in the end, being as curious about it as me.

Jasmine let her hands fall on the surface of the table harshly, rolling her eyes annoyed. "Mum!" she groaned loudly, her voice slightly breaking while I started laughing, looking down at my plate.

I looked back up and noticed her mother was still looking at me, patiently waiting for a reply. "Honestly, I don't know either" I replied, raising my eyebrows and shoulders to confirm my words. "I always see them talking but that's all I know" I added.

Jasmine's mother, who was sitting in front of Jasmine herself, squeezed her eyes slightly and nodded with a hum, taking a bite from her pizza slice.

My friend looked at her mother with an annoyed glance. "Mum, we're just friends" she assured her mother and she looked down at her plate, her attention completely drawn by the pizza on her plate.
