She turned around and smiled.
"Sure, lets get a drink first". We walked to the vending machine.
"Would you like a drink". Now she acted nice.
"No thanks". After she got a drink we walked outside, I had exactly 10 minutes until the next class bell rang. That ment 10 minutes to talk with Michelle. We sat at a bench. She looked at me.
"So what do you wanna talk about". She opened her Dr. Pepper.
"What did I do to make you hate me"? She took a drink of her drink.
"I don't hate you layla, I envy you. Your life is perfect--".
"My life is not perfect, so don't say it's perfect".
"Layla your life is perfect, you have lots of friends, good grades and a good family". I looked at her with empathy. I knew her dad had died but she never spoke about it. I had exactly 5 minutes left to speak to Michelle.
"Is it because of your dad"? She looked at me. I did not know if she was mad or sad. She looked back at her drink.
" no , my mom she's ...". She started crying. I put my hand on her shoulder.
"What she's, what is it Michelle"?
"She's has a girlfriend". I knew her mom was going through stuff but I did not know she had found someone so fast. I had 3 minutes left.
"Ok well I'm gonna give you some space to think, ok". She did not say anything so I walked away. I got pushed by one of Michelle's friends and it pissed me off. I pushed him back.
"Like I said don't piss me off". They laughed and poured water all over my shirt. Remember when I say don't piss me off I meant it.
I pushed all of them out of the way. I tripped one of them and walked away.
