Chapter Three:

"She should be waking up any moment. The drug effect lasts a maximum of two hours. Time is ticking."

I stayed seated and awake, but remained still and kept my breathing at a peaceful rhythmic pace. I could hear the rigid breaths being released from the people around me as well as smell their horrid breath. Someone had recently left for a quick smoke, I fought off the urge to crinkle up my nose in disgust.

Realisation began to dawn on me. Sensitive hearing.., improved sense of smell.., it could only lead to one thing.

I couldn't fake being asleep for any longer. A shockingly heavy amount of pressure landed on my chest. My heart started thumping against my ribcage loud and harshly. I wheezed out quick short breathes although the number of times I kept repeating the process and fail to compose myself, my body began to shake furiously in the chair, with none of my consent.

Through the pores in my skin at the back of my neck and armpits, sweat formed and rolled down my flesh, leaving behind goosebumps.

"She's having a panic attack! Someone call in the nurse right now!"

I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes. Keeping my eyes closed seem to help control a small portion of my inner strength to push away the transformation. It was stronger then me, much stronger, and the state I was in was making it even more extremely difficult on my behalf.

Venomous inflicted pain shot through every inch of my body. Growl after growl squeezed it's way through my clenched teeth. I felt the familiar feeling of my bones grinding up against each other.

"Leave her." I recognised Dr.Delsons thick British accent, he snapped harshly. "You're all blind! Isn't it noticeable? She isn't strong enough to hold back the animals urge. It's a full moon, that wolf is coming out whether she likes it or not! Once she's turned you will all program our latest technology to hold her down whilst I fill this vessel with her wolves toxin."

Hearing his words, it reminded me, that I was only here to be a test subject. These people weren't trying to cure me, they were only keen on what I was, or who I could become. I knew deep down it was angering the animal, adding fuel to the already scorching fire.

I suddenly became over thrown. Shoved to the back of my mind and pushed behind a vicious blood thirsty beast in the darkness of what was left of my humanity. I had lost all control to my body as it turned pitch black for countless seconds. I could only imagine the scientists watching this like they were at the theatre. Their mouths would be open wide as their eyes stay glued to my transforming self.

The pain I'd grown accustom to has never eased or simmered down. I'd always arch forwards as excruciating pain bursted up and down my spine. My bones would manoeuvre their way into the animals form, locking in and out until they fit together like a jigsaw.

Every movement was a blur until the animal finally gained full control and I was left alone in the back of its mind, to whimper and watch pathetically through the eyes like glass windows.
