The giant banana tree that once stood so proudly in the garden was now broken into several pieces. Their six feet long green leaves had been shredded into a hundred strips, and the red flower was nowhere to be seen.

The storm was over, but rain drops continued to fall in cold droplets. It was a sad sight, the immaculate garden had been blown away in one day. Miss Lim wiped her tears and remained in her chair. She could not master the strength to go outside and see the destruction. Especially what it must have done to her precious banana tree.

"What am I going to do? What am I going to do?" she kept asking herself. Of course she could easily get another tree, but will it be the same? All day her thoughts tormented her. She did not even notice that the sky had cleared and the sun was out.

It was Ming's day to come and do the garden. Candy felt cheerful, as she didn't like to see her garden in such a mess. She was going to let him do some work until the morning got too hot, then she had other plans.

They would take a shower together, and who knows what that naughty gardener will do to her under the shower. He was always most imaginative, and it surprised her what he thought of.

But Candy had heard from a friend, another interesting story about the banana tree, and she was going to share that with Ming.

Just then her neighbor, Miss Lim, came to the door. She looked terrible, and Candy invited her in to comfort her. While they were drinking hot coffee, Candy shared her story with the older woman. She thought it might cheer her up. Just look at her garden, destroyed in the storm, and nobody to help her clear up the rubbish.
