(Dipper pov)

I slowly open my eyes feeling something touching my cheek. I realize it's the demon causing me to flinch back hitting his hand away. "Don't touch me!"

He retracts his hand as he rises to his feet. Looking up at him I see that while his skin is pitch black like the night and he's also wearing completely black clothes as well.

"Come with me."

"B-But you said-"

"Would you rather spend the rest of eternity locked in here?" Getting to my feet I follow him out of the room and through the halls of the castle. "......you're free to explore the castle and the grounds as much as you would like. Just stay out of the West Wing."

"Why? What's in the-"

"JUST STAY OUT OF IT!" He turns to me growling. I flinch back giving a small nod.

He leads me to a room and pushes me into it, the door shutting behind me. I look around the room in awe, it being three times the size of my room back home.

"Wow...."

"Fantastic isn't it?" I turn seeing a candelabra moving and talking.

"Ah!" Not thinking I take my book out of my messneger bag and throw it at him. It hits him and he falls on the ground hard.

"Ow." He stands up relighting his candles. "That how you say hello from where you come from?"

"You're talking....I have gone nuts....I am talking to a candle holder."

"Candelabra. There's a difference. I see you like the room. We chose only the best for you." He jumps on the bed and a cloud of dust erupts from it. He coughs waving it away. "Sorry, we weren't expecting guest."

A swan shaped feather duster flies into the room brushing past me. "Don't worry, I'll have this room spotless in no time!"

She goes around dusting the room. I walk over the a desk seeing a mirror and hairbrush on it. "So....is everything around here alive too?"

"No, not everything. How rude of us to not make indroductions. I am Lumire, this beauty is Plumette."

"French names."

"You know the beautiful language?"

"A little bit. My dad taught me some when we moved to my village."

Plumette comes to the desk dusting it off as well as she looks at me. "Where did you and your father live before?"

"Paris."

"Oh how wonderful! What was it like?"

"I don't know.....after my mom and sister died we moved. I was just a baby so I don't remember much of anything before we lived in the village." I go over to my book picking it up off the floor and hugging it to my chest."

I jump back away from the wardrobe as it loudly yawns. "Do not be alarmed." Lumire advises me. "This is just your wardrobe. Meet Madame De Garderobe. A great singer."

"Ah, finally! Someone to dress!"

All her drawers open as fabrics and ribbons wrap around me. she seems satisfied as she falls back asleep and the others leave the room. I get out of the fabrics as I go to the window opening it and nervously gulping as I see how high up I am.

"....I fucking hate heights...."

I go back over to the fabrics and ribbons. I start tying them all together and tie them to the bedpost. After all of them are tied together I toss the tied strand out the window but it only reaches halfway down.

"Crap."

I look back towards the door hearing him pounding on it. "You will join me for dinner! That's not a request." Is he serious? I ignore him as I pull the strand of tied fabrics back into the room and close the window. There aren't enough things in this room for me to tie together to be able to safely climb down out of the window.

Hearing a more gentle knock I look towards the door again. I sigh softely as I give an answer this time. "Give me one minute."

"You've taken me prisoner and now you want to have dinner with me? Are you insane?"

I hear him pounding on the door again. "I told you to come down for dinner!"

"And I told you know!" I pick up a smal clock from the nightstand and throw it at the door. "I'll starve before I ever eat with you!"

"Well be my guest! Go ahead and starve!" I hear him storm off.

I sit on the bed hugging my knees to my chest. How the hell am I supposed to get out of here? The only way I could get out won't work and if I leave this room to look for another escape then there's a good chance of being stopped by the other talking things in this crazy place. I softly start singing my mom's song to myself as a tear goes down my cheek.

"How does a moment last forever?
How can a story never die?
It is love we must hold onto
Never easy, but we try
Sometimes our happiness is captured
Somehow, our time and place stand still
Love lives on inside our hearts and always will

Minutes turn to hours, days to years then gone
But when all else has been forgotten
Still our song lives on

Maybe some moments weren't so perfect
Maybe some memories not so sweet
But we have to know some bad times
Or our lives are incomplete
Then when the shadows overtake us
Just when we feel all hope is gone
We'll hear our song and know once more
Our love lives on

How does a moment last forever?
How does our happiness endure?
Through the darkest of our troubles
Love is beauty, love is pure
Love pays no mind to desolation
It flows like a river through the soul
Protects, proceeds, and perseveres
And makes us whole

Minutes turn to hours, days to years then gone
But when all else has been forgotten
Still our song lives on
How does a moment last forever
When our song lives on"

I hug my knees to my chest tighter, resting my forehead on my knees as tears quietly come down my cheeks.
