There were three minutes left and the Warriors were 2 points behind.
Come on come on you got this.
I chanted in my head as number 15 dribbled down the court. She got to the three-point line lifted the ball and........SCORE! Just as the clock hit zero.
"YES!! Noora you did it!" Amber, one of my best friends, yelled from beside me.
"Omg, we won!!! yes, I knew you could do it." I said patting my now sweaty friend Noora on the back.
"I know I can't believe it. Ha, who would have guessed that we could beat the Tigers when we were down by 2 the whole time!"
"I know right," I said chuckling.
Ding. My phone dinged from my shorts' pockets.
MOM: I'm outside so hurry up!
ME: okay I'm coming out rn.
"Hey, Amber I got to go. Tell Noora I'll take you guys out for a victory ice cream after school tomorrow." I said picking up my stuff hurriedly.
"KK bestie ill see you tomorrow! Also, we have a math test remember !?!"
Ugh, how could I forget? Math was a form of child torture!
I ran out of the gym hurriedly not paying attention to where I was going.
"Oof" the sound came out of my mouth as I tumbled towards the ground. I closed my eyes waiting for the impact when I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist stopping my fall.
"Falling for me already?" a humorous voice said. And I recognized it to be Max's a boy from the popular group.
Wait o.m.g I can't believe it, I ran into the popular group. This can't be happening right now.
I had managed to stay off their teasing radar for my first two years of high school only talking to them for projects, which I ended up doing by myself in the end. Or in the halls. I doubt they even knew my name.
"....Right?" Andrew another popular boy asked looking at me.
I noticed that they seemed to have been having a conversation that I wasn't paying attention to.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked trying to figure out what they were asking me.
"Oh cam I think you might have caught her too late, are you sure she didn't hit her head?" he asked chuckling.
And I noticed that I didn't know who my 'savior' was and decided that they must have been tired from holding me up for so long so I stood up and turned around trying to thank them for helping me.
"thank....."
It was Cameron. The one person I hoped I never ran into ever.
