TW: VIOLENCE

***

"You're a fool, Cathleen," A familiar deep voice echoed.

Where am I?

I'm not in a room or anything. It's pitch black, and I can't see anything. I kept walking and walking until I ran with no dead ends. It's like space, dark and boundless.

"The answer is right in front of you. Why don't you accept it?"

I look around to see anyone. The voice who talked to me comes from every angle.

"Who are you?" I asked, "where am I?"

"You're not dumb, Cathleen. Why didn't you take the hint that it was me?" I can hear the voice clearly from behind.

I turned around to see David. He is wearing a black shirt and shorts.

"So, it's true? You're behind all of this mess?" I ran towards him, but as I grabbed him, he disappeared like smoke.

"Why do you need to get involved in this situation?" the voice echoed from behind, "You're risking the life of the person you love."

Lights flicker from above, projecting two girls tight on a chair with black cloth on their heads. David stood in the middle of them. He took off the fabric and revealed Stephanie and Joanne.

"Let them go!" I screamed, and the chain around my hand was holding me from running.

"Do you know Cathleen? Curiosity kills the cat," David smirked under the lights. He grabbed something behind and pointed his guns at Stephanie and Joanne's heads.

"Stop this, you psycho!" I exclaimed as I tried to squeeze my hand from the chain.

"I never thought you would find me easily. I guess I underestimate you," he reloads his guns, "this is what you get for knowing too much."

"Stop!-"

*BANG*

~~~
"Stop!" I jumped from my bed. My chest started to beat faster, and my shirt was soaking wet because of my sweats.  I looked around to see Joanne still sleeping on top of me, but I think I woke her up.
I feel relief to know it was all just a dream. I hugged Joanne and kissed her all over her head.
"Hey, everything's alright? You're sweating a lot," Joanne asked in worry. She looks cute when she's tired, which calms me a bit.
I took a deep breath to control my breathing, "Sorry for waking you up. It was just a nightmare, and I'm alright."
Joanne nodded and went back to sleep.
Was that a nightmare? After discovering that David might have something to do with the capo, I think yesterday triggered the dream.
"Don't you fucking dare!" I heard a scream behind the door.
What is it this time?
"Ugh, can you shut them up?" Joanne groaned as she pulled herself from me.
Suddenly the door flew open by force. Simon, in his boxers, dropped to the ground with blood all over his face and chest.
"The fuck-"
Four men wearing a balaclava entered my room. I sat up on my bed, dumbfounded by the situation. What is happening? Am I still dreaming?
Two guys walked forward and grabbed Joanne away from me, "Hey! Who the fuck are you-"
They took my hand, and I felt something cold hitting my head. I fell to the floor, and my hearing began to wear off. All I could hear was a ringing sound. It hurts my head.
