09: INTERRUPTIONS

Breakfast was spent discussing Isabela's suitor: Mariano Guzmán's proposal for the night to the said woman, who grows anxious as she seeks your comfort, admitting that she doesn't really want to do it. Afterwards, you guide her to the Guzmán's house for a meeting, but leave her to meet with Bruno, although your plans were interrupted by Dolores in search of you. The woman then reveals that she was aware of your discreet meetings with the seer while you console her about her unrequited feelings for Isabela's soon-to-be betrothed.

It took Dolores some convincing to let you go, but she eventually caved in as you still had chores to do. You were so preoccupied with everyone and Bruno that you forgot about cleaning altogether. It was going to be a big night, and everything needed to be perfect, as the Madrigal matriarch would say. You rush to the dining room for the night only to find that... everything was spotless, courtesy of the parents who were all present, plus Antonio.

"Ah, no need to worry corazón, we already cleaned up here." Julieta walks over as she hands you an empanada.

"But—"

"You should relax for a bit! My friends told me that they saw you going to Isa's door, then into town, then Dolores's door." Antonio says while standing in the doorway, as his toucan friend lands on his arm, while some other birds gathered around him as well.

"Ay, Camilo can't stop talking about you either. We gotta prepare for the wed—" Félix gets interrupted with a nudge from Pepa.

"Miraboo also can't stop talking about you. You should see the look on her face, she always has this lov—" Agustín was also interrupted with an empanada shoved into his mouth by Julieta.

"Oh, well it's nice that i'm making a good impression. But really, is there anything else I can help with? Anything at all?"

Seeing the eager and genuine expression on your face, the parents were reminded why they and their children liked you so much, you were just an absolute pleasure to be around with. Whichever you choose, they'll love you all the same, yet there has been a bit of competition due to the fact that whichever you choose will make one of the couples your in-laws, which means more of you. Who wouldn't want that?

"Really, it's alright cariño. Besides, Toñito's been dying to play with you." As Pepa mentions the little boy, he grabs your hand, giving you puppy dog eyes, which made you cave in as you head outside, playing with Antonio and his animals. All of a sudden, his jaguar nudges its head on your hand, flopping backwards, exposing its stomach.

"...uh, you sure about this, 'Tonio?"

"Of course! Parce loves you, he and the others talk about you a lot!"

You gaze at the spotted animal (who you just learned was a he and was named Parce) a bit nervously. You know Antonio's friends wouldn't hurt you, but this was a freaking jaguar! You hesitantly rub his stomach, and the big cat purrs, delight washing over his features. Huh, perhaps this wasn't so bad after all.

"See? He loves it!" Antonio had a big grin on his face, which made you happy. He loved playing with you, you were always such a fun time yet also caring, but not in a suffocating way, you trusted him enough to deal with himself sometimes. Although, he wished he could spend time with you more. You were often so busy with the other Madrigal kids, sometimes running errands around town, and your chores.

Suddenly remembering about the vision, you explain to him that you had to go and check up on Mirabel, which wasn't a complete lie. You haven't seen her all day, which was pretty much your fault since you spent all this time with other family members.
