The next morning Olivia woke up confused in her bed at her own house. After what happened last night with Marc at her brother's house party she had gone home immediately, not even bothered to tell Fabio that she had taken off. She sat up and picked up her mobile from her nightstand.
7 missed calls
11 unread messagesMost of them were from Fabio, but also some from Mathilde and Tom. There was one message from an unknown number that got her attention the most.
I'm really sorry. X
Marc. That was the only one she could think from who that message was. How did he get her number either way?
She softly touched her lips, the same lips that Marc had kissed a couple of hours before. He had some kinda spell on her that she hadn't felt with any guy since David and it was confusing the hell out of her. She had finally gotten her life back on track after all the horrific events that happened. There was no way she could mess that all up for a man.
But right now she needed to pull herself back together and get out of bed to get ready for the day. She made a mental note to herself to let her brother know she was okay, take a quick shower to wash away last night, and pick Hailey up from her parents. The house felt empty without her little girl.

Olivia was about to head out of the door to her parent's house a couple of streets away when she heard the doorbell ring. She sighed, knowing that it was probably Fabio worrying about her like always and demanding an explanation from her why she left so suddenly at his birthday party.
She walked towards the door and expected to find the blond boy at the door opening and she frowned when she saw the all too familiar brown-haired and brown-eyed man standing right in front of her.
'Hey.' Marc spoke up a bit awkwardly as he looked at the ground.
'Hello.' Olivia said a bit surprised, not expecting the former World Champion on her doorstep of all places in the world. Suddenly things started to click in Olivia's head. The reason why Marc was yesterday at the party. The reason how he got her telephone number. The reason why he was standing in her house right now. Fabio. Why would he do something? He was always the one that was protecting her from guys ever since David.
'I want to apologize about yesterday.' He said and finally looked up at her. His eyes were burning on her skin and it made her whole body shiver under his stare.
'How do you know where I live? Let me guess? Fabio?' She spoke a little bitter. Didn't she deserve a little bit of privacy?
'It was your brother indeed.' He said and Olivia shook her head in disbelieve. She knew it. 'Come in.' She didn't need her neighbors wondering why there was another MotoGP rider than her brother at her house.
'Thanks.' Olivia stepped back to let him in her house and he gratefully smiled at her.
Marc walked into her living room not really knowing how to act and he couldn't help but look around. For some reason her house looked exactly what he imagined. It was cozy, modern and it looked like a home - a real home. He turned around to see the woman who had him confused ever since their kiss last night.
'Olivia, I came here to apologize. I didn't mean to upset you - I guess I misread the signs.' Marc confessed. His brown eyes stared at her and Olivia believed every word he said, he seemed so sincere. 'I hope you can forgive me and that we can move on.'
'Why did you come all the way over here?' Olivia asked him and ignored the last part of his words.
'You didn't respond to my text and I am leaving later today with my brother to Spain again and didn't want to leave things unsaid between us.' Olivia was kinda thrown off by his gestures. She felt a little flattered that he would do all this effort for her. There was just something about this man and here he was again, proving to her that there was indeed something about him. That was the part that scared the hell out of her, but somehow that was also the part that had her intrigued.
'Can you accept my apology?' Marc asked, wanting to know where the two of them were standing. He wanted that the beautiful woman in front of him could forgive him and then maybe he could ask her on a date. He already knew that Olivia was the kinda woman that he needed to put the effort in to win her over and that kinda excited him.
'Yes. I can.' Olivia breathed out before she could even think clearly about it. For some reason he had that influence over her. She just hoped right there that she made the right choice.
Marc also breathed out a sigh of relief. 'That means to world to me, Olivia. You have no idea.'
'Just never kiss me again. I just wanna be friends.' The woman spoke, trying to protect herself. Marc frowned at her words, sometimes he had a feeling like she felt the same connection between them as he did and then just a couple of seconds later she would try to shut him out. That was exactly what happened last night. He was not giving up that easily.
'Do you want something to drink?' She couldn't just send the man away after all of this. Any other man wouldn't even bother to look at her ever again and just go after the next prey.
'Yeah, that would be great.' Marc nodded, happy that he could spend more time with her.
'Coffee, tea, or something else?'
'A coffee sounds good.'
Olivia walked towards the kitchen to make them some coffee, leaving Marc in her living room. Then she suddenly realized what she had done as she saw him sitting down on the couch and looking around. Marc freaking Màrquez was in her home. Her home was full of family pictures, including a lot of pictures of Hailey. There were toys all over the place. It was a part of her life the man she just let in had no idea about. She silently cursed her brother for putting her in this situation. She was sure he would definitely walk away now - maybe even run.
Marc took in his surroundings and looked at the pictures on the wall. He saw some with her parents on it, he recognized him from the paddock once. He noticed some pictures with a girl and of course some pictures with her brother. He could tell from the pictures that she was definitely a family girl. But what struck him the most was that there were a lot of pictures of a cute, little, blond girl. She couldn't be older than two years. Who was she? Was she a cousin? Or the daughter of her friend in the pictures? Then he noticed that in the corner of the room was a big box full of toys. Did that little girl live here? It was an awful lot of toys to have laying around for just a girl visiting sometimes. Did Olivia have a daughter he had no idea about? If so, why didn't she tell him about her? Where was the father? There were no pictures of another man than her father and Fabio in the room.
'Who is that little girl?' Marc asked when Olivia returned from the kitchen. He didn't want to interfere too much in her life in case she would shut him out again, but the words were out of his mouth before he even realized it. His curiosity got the best of him.
'I may have something to tell you..' Olivia spoke as she noticed his face. She could see the confusion all over it. There was no way out of this.
