The Resistance

The Resistance Chapter 3

Armony and I walked in History class having a debate about who the best basketball player is. He thinks it's Michael Jordan and I think it's Lebron James. We always debated nonstop and it would just end with one of just agreeing to disagree.

The classroom looked like your average high school class,  about 30 brown square desks lined up. Posters with famous historians like Abraham Lincoln and MLK hung around the classroom.  A huge white board with the words "Start on your work future jail mates"  highlighted in black marker. Usually the teacher would be here on time with a look like he would rather be anywhere else.   

Our desks are seated right next to each other, so we were considered the class clowns.  Well, Armony was considered the clown, while I just laughed at everything he did.  We both sat in our seats waiting for the snooze fest to commence.  

"Ohhhh Kobi look who it us" Armony leaned over and said. 

"Get away from me your breath stinks and who are yo-"  I was interrupted by the most beautiful girl that I've ever seen sitting down in front of me. Her short black curly hair reached to her neck. She wore a Billie Eilish  t-shirt and some black sweatpants that made a specific area look bigger than usual.  The girl pulled out her headphones and started doing her work while listening  to music.

"Look at you drooling, you that down bad for her huh" Armony teased 

"I was just looking at her, stop being weird. You look at a girl nowadays everyone thinks you like her"  I whispered back 

" Ya sure I also saw the way you were looking at her ass, your not slick"  Armony laughed 

I blushed furiously "I don't know what your talking about"

"Yea yea whatever, I don't understand" He sighed " Why don't you just talk to her" 

"It's not that easy" I frowned playing with my fingers " Why would she want to talk to someone like me? She's probably out on her hot girl stuff or something".

"First of all never say that again" He laughed " And second how can you possibly know without even talking to her first? Stop being a pussy and man up" He said aggressively 

It's easy for him to say stuff like that. Moments like these are when our views clash. I'm not a person that can just pull girls or say a cheesy one liner like " Hey baby you looking good tonight". I don't even know how to talk to girls, so I just stay out of the way and to myself when it comes to relationships. 

"Hey Ava" Armony said interrupting me out of my thoughts

What is this idiot doing? Is he trying to embarrass me?

I started to panic as he went stood up and shook her to grab her attention.

" What" Ava said mildly annoyed. Her voice flat and monotone.

"Are you single?" Armony responded. 

Ava frowned "  You interrupted my music to ask me that?"

 "Yup" He smiled, he could be a dickhead sometimes.

 "Yea I am, and no I don't want to go out with you, your not my type".  She bit back

"Wow my feelings are hurt" Armony said pretending to be hurt, but I personally don't think he was pretending.  

"Well I wasn't asking for myself, I was asking for my friend over here" He pointed at me with a toothy grin. I was going to kill this clown later today. His body will be shown on the news tomorrow. 

Ava turned around and glanced  at me. My body tensed up as she stared at me with her icy blue eyes.  "Um...D-don't listen to him he's just talking" I said nervously playing with my fingers.
