Pepper walked Emmaline back to the office and Emmaline looked around, shaking her head "Did well for yourself didnt you Pepe?" She smiled as she sat on the couch, crossing her legs and dropping an arm over the back.

"Emmy, my God where have you been?" Pepper demanded "I thought you were dead!"

"Oh I've been here and there" Emmy said nonchalantly "Got kidnapped and tortured by a madman, escaped and got to see the world just like I wanted."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Pepper asked as she sat down with a thump on the chair across from her. "It was chaos after the explosion, they searched the ruins but there were too many, they told me you had been among the dead."

"Im sure they did" Emmy laughed humorlessly "What they failed to tell people was that it was an attack by The Mandarin, in the hopes of destroying more political US allies and gaining some more test subjects for his little project."

"The Mandarin?" Pepper scrunched her nose "Ive heard of him, hes running wild in the Middle East. Youre telling me you've been held captive this whole time by him?"

"Not the whole time, Pep and captive is too tame of a word for what that man did to me!" Emmy stood up angry, pacing around "I was tortured and experimented on, my DNA changed and manipulated, all in the name of progress."

"Im so sorry, Emmy, I thought you were gone, I grieved for you." Pepper responded "If I had known you were still alive and being held captive, I would have done everything to find you! How did you escape and find me?"

Emmy stopped her pacing and looked at her "You were right to grieve, Pep, the Emmaline you knew died on that night" Emmy smiled sadly "As for escaping, I used this" Emmy produced a ball of fire in her hand "Their experiments worked to well and I became too powerful for them, as for finding you, its really not that difficult Ms. CEO"

Pepper gasped as Emmy extinguished the fire in her hand "What did they do to you?" Unconsciously she took a step back "Emmy, why are you here?"

Emmaline shook her head in disgust "Relax, Pepper, Im not here to attack you, im here to find Tony Stark and the Avengers" She at back down, leaning forward her elbows on her knees "Ive made it my life's mission to track down the Mandarin and according to my intel he's no longer in the Middle East but here in the US" She leaned back again "I need help finding him, so I can destroy him once and for all"

"I cant help you there" Pepper shook her head, standing and walking to stare out the windows, she looked back at Emmy "Tony and I dont speak unless it's about the company and he mostly leaves it up to me" She took a deep breath "Emmy..."

"You guys arent together anymore? Interesting" Emmy contemplated "But if you cant get me in touch with him I guess im just going to have to find my own way in." Emmaline got up and started walking toward the door, turning when Pepper called her name again.

"Emmy, I dont think this is a good idea,the things I've heard about the Mandarin..." Pepper trailed off and shaking her head spoke up again "Hes too powerful even for the Avengers, I dont want to see anyone get hurt."

"It's too late for that" Emmaline said in flat voice "And the Mandarin created the one weapon that can destroy him" Emmy glared at her, "Me" With that she walked away again, stopping at the door to look back at her "You look good Pep but be careful with Killian and Extremis, your skin is too fair for the fire" With that she walked out of Peppers office without another glance.
