michael drove them through the night, fingers drumming gently against the steering wheel as charlie had her hands right in front of the heater.nothing was heard apart from the rain throwing itself against the windows of the car, the car tires driving over gravel road, and of course..
"i spy with my little eye.. something that is- purple!"
michael.
charlie merely rolled her eyes in annoyance, glancing back at the young man who has a smug smirk settled on his lips. he knew it annoyed his little street chick, and that's why he liked it.
he wanted to see exactly how far he could push before she would break, or- yell at him persay.
"mike, it's my nails. you've 'spied' them at least 3 times already." she hummed in irritation, leaning her body towards the window. she just wanted to watch the rain in peace and quiet, but she knew michael wouldn't be so generous. she's learned a lot about michael within the past hour of their car ride together.
he's an only child, he doesn't like tomato's, his favourite flowers are dandelions even if they're considered weeds.
he said that he still found them beautiful.
whilst the red haired man rambled on and on about what he's like and over punk bands charlie couldn't care to know, she focused on heating her hands and body.
she was focused on planning what comes next.
"yea well- your nails are the only thing that have colour, and since you don't want to play, i guess it's my job to point out the obvious." he mumbled as he kept his eyes directed on the road.
charlie could only furrow her brows before looking at the man driving, almost in disbelief. she really did think michael lacked a few brain cells.
as much as he liked the play dumb, he didn't. he was one intelligent man.
"you know you don't have to play right? we could just- oh i don't know, drive?"
michael snorted and shook his head, quickly glancing at the girl beside him. he could feel the annoyance dripping off of her, that made him proud.
"what's the fun in that, sugar?"
"why do you keep calling me that?" she mumbled, anger flooding her chest. at this point in time, she really was starting the regret getting in the car. luckily for her, her future self would apprciate it a heap ton more.
michael just hummed and stopped at a red light, merely shrugging his shoulders as he didn't give the question much thought.
"dunno, you're not very sweet." he replied casually, relaxing against his seat as he waited for the vibrant light to turn green.
it was just them on the quiet road that night, just them and michaels stupid comments.
"you're kind of an ass, you know that right?" charlie snapped. michael could only tilt his head in amusement, reaching over to pinch the girls cheek. he had no problem being touchy, no problem acting like a nuisance.
"you know, other people on that side of town wouldn't have been as kind to you as i am. i offered you a ride, heat, maybe some snacks-"
"okay!" charlie snapped, fingers delicately rubbing at her temples. she really couldn't stand the red haired man, but she had to admit that he was doing her a favour.
"enough- i get it, you're very nice and whatever. say.. why did you even offer to help me- or.. guide me in this case?" she wondered, attention now trained to the man driving once again, face illuminated with the bright green.
