"You're suffocating me, Oliver."

It's been approximately two weeks since Thanksgiving, and things have only gotten better. It's alarming, but Addison won't let his anxiety get in the way of his and Oliver's progress.

One thing Addison's noticed about their budding friendship is that Oliver's a big ole softy. A very touchy one at that.

And it seems every day it gets more and more frequent. Oliver's favorite thing lately seemed to be hugging. These days, Addison has been getting more hugs than kisses. But he hasn't complained once.

He couldn't because he loved it too much.

But seriously, the hugs were a never-ending thing. They wake up, the first thing Oliver wants to do is hug. Addison's tired from a long day at work, no worries because he knows that when he arrives home, Oliver's waiting for him with open arms. Arms that Addison gladly falls into.

He could lie in Oliver's arms for hours. Sometimes he even falls asleep in them.

Again, no complaints there.

"I'm sorry." The boy pulled away instantly, "Am I making you uncomfortable?"

"No." Addison turned back to the sink and clutched his toothbrush. "We need to get ready for school. Remember we have to drive Gabe now, and I don't wanna be late."

Slowly but surely, a small smile adorned Oliver's face. "Yeah...You're right, sorry." He shoved Addison to the side and grabbed his toothbrush.

Addison scoffed and pushed him back, "This is my bathroom. If you're going to be stingy about the mirror, you can brush your teeth with Gabe."

"No. It's our bathroom."

And it was.

After a conversation with Addison's parents, Oliver and Gabe got a permanent spot in the Westbrook household. They spared a few details about his father, but it seemed his parents understood their situation. They promised to do everything in their power to make sure they stayed safe. And whenever Oliver felt ready, they would report the incidents.

But Oliver being Oliver feels like the abuse wasn't "important." He seems to believe that his father hurting him isn't a problem. Yet, he made it clear that if he ever laid a finger on Gabe, "He would be taken straight to court, and hopefully gifted with a long miserable life in prison."

Oliver's words exactly.

Addison just hoped that Oliver's dad never gets the chance. Gabe hasn't seen him since that night. They all made sure of that.

But that doesn't stop Oliver from having run-ins with the older man. The last one just a week ago left him with a bruised wrist and an inability to believe that he'd ever see his father change. It seemed every day he just got worse.
