It had been two days since Clint and Winter arrived at the farm. They had yet to hear from anyone and didn't know if the rest of the team knew yet about the infiltration of the tower. Winter woke up to the sun peeking through the curtain of the bedroom she and Clint had been sharing. She looked over and saw Clint still asleep. Quietly, she got out of bed and put his buttoned-up shirt on. She made her way into the kitchen to start making him breakfast. Being on the farm and with Clint made Winter feel normal, like it was something that could actually happen.
As she was turning the coffee pot on, she felt two warm arms wrap around her waist. Smiling to herself, she leaned back into Clint's chest as he laid his chin on her shoulder.
"Have I ever told you how sexy you look wearing my shirt?" he whispered in her ear.
Winter felt the goosebumps go up her arms. She turned around in his arms, kissing him. "Have I ever told you how sexy you look not wearing your shirt?"
Clint smiled as he leaned in and kissed her deeply. Winter started running her hands through his hair. Clint reached down and grabbed her hips, helping her jump up on the kitchen counter. As Clint started running his hands up Winter's thighs, there was a loud knock on the front door. Winter felt her heart start beating faster. No one knew they were there. Clint pulled away and helped Winter down from the counter.
"Go hide in the bedroom," he said while grabbing a hidden gun in one of the kitchen drawers.
"Clint," Winter grabbed his arm, worry in her eyes.
Clint leaned in and kissed her forehead, "Don't worry," he whispered. Once he saw Winter shut the door to the bedroom, Clint made his way towards the front door. He took the safety off of the gun and discreetly looked through the curtain of one of the windows. Seeing who it was, he sighed in relief. Clint opened the door, putting the safety back on the gun and tucking it into the back of his pants.
"Barton," Coulson said, nodding to Clint. "Can I come in?"
Clint opened the door wider, letting the director of S.H.I.E.L.D in. Coulson looked towards the back of the house, seeing Winter peeking around a corner with a ball of fire in her hands. Coulson smiled.
"Ms. Winter," he greeted her.
Clint walked back towards her. "It's ok, it's just Director Coulson." Winter began letting the fire ball dissipate away. Clint took her hand and led her towards the living room. "It's been days Coulson, what's going on?"
"The Avengers tower has been compromised. Hydra attempted to find any files we had on Ms. Winter. Thankfully JARVIS was able to prevent any data being leaked. We've contacted the rest of the team and they are making their way towards a new facility. Thor and Loki are also back, and they need to speak to all of you as soon as possible. You both have ten minutes to get ready before we leave." And with that, Coulson walked out and back to the jet that was parked in one of the fields.
Clint sighed, running his hand through his hair. He looked over to Winter who looked visibly shaken. He grabbed her arm and pulled her into him. "Hey, it's going to be ok," he whispered.
Winter shook her head. "No Clint, it's not. No matter what I do, they will always come looking for me. I'm putting everyone in danger, including you."
Clint cupped her face, making her look up at him. "Winter, we are not giving up on you. I'm not giving up on you. I'm not going to let anything happen to you." Winter leaned into Clint's chest, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Now come on, Coulson is waiting on us."
Clint and Winter quickly got dressed and packed a duffle bag with a few belongings. Locking the door behind them, they made their way to the jet waiting for them.
