I open my eyes and yawn, stretching out my arms and cracking my knuckles. I exhaustedly get out of bed, carelessly throwing my glow-in-the-dark constellation blanket on the floor. I get dressed, putting on my chest binder and then a simple blue t-shirt. I slide on a black oversized hoodie over my t-shirt and allow the sleeves to go past my hands. I put on some grey shorts. I brush my short brown hair quickly. I put my hands up, allowing my sleeves to fall down as I wrap a hairband around my wrist and hold up my hair, putting it into a low ponytail. I slip on some fluffy socks and velcro shoes. (Guess I'm ready for school now..) I check the time, it's only 6:40 so I still have a bunch of time. I pick up my ukelele and play a few notes, writing down what notes I play so I can continue the song later. I check the time again, it's 7:20. I put down my ukelele and pick up my bookbag from the floor. I leave my room, walking past the long hallway, opening the front door and closing it behind me as I walk to school. My name is Comet Smallfield, I'm 14 years old and I go by he/they pronouns.
I finally make it to school. I hear footsteps coming from behind me and suddenly feel someone wrapping their arms around me. "Ah!-" They let go of me and walk beside me. "Sorry.... did I startle you, Comet?" She asks, with a soft smile. (Of course..... it's just Aubrey..) I let out a sigh of relief. "No, it's fine, Aubrey... I'm glad to see you actually..." I tell her as we walk into the school. We go upstairs and I stop at my locker, she walks past me. "Bye Comet!" Aubrey says, waving her hand. "Bye Aubrey!" I say back, taking off my bookbag and throwing it into my bottom locker. I open my top locker and take out my binder for my first class, then go to homeroom.
School is so boring that I just fantasized about anime characters the whole time. I'm in my 8th class already, which is pretty close to the end of the school day. The girl sitting behind me makes fake moaning noises. Her name is Jamie Addison. "Jamie stop!" I whisper angrily to her. "Jeez, learn to take a joke.." She says, clearly annoyed. "You could seriously get both of us in trouble for doing that.." I whisper. She turns away from me. A few seconds later I see Jamie nervously staring at Gavin Silver, one of my other classmates from across the room. (Huh..? That's strange..) I can't even focus for the rest of class, I just keep wondering what that was all about.
After class Jamie talks to Devyn, her best friend. I listen in on the conversation. "So what do you think Gavin wants to talk to you about?" Devyn asks cautiously. "Honestly I'm not sure, I wouldn't be surprised if he was just messing with me or wanted to play some sort of prank......" She says, sounding kind of exhausted and annoyed. "Yea, it probably is a prank... that or he wants to fuck" He says back. ".....are you having a hangover again..?" She asks jokingly. "What? What else would he do? The back of the school is a sketchy place to meet up." He tells her. Suddenly Gavin runs up to Jamie, grabs her by the arm, and drags her downstairs. I cautiously follow Gavin and Jamie to see what's going on, they go behind the school. Gavin throws Jamie. "Oww! Hey what the actual fuck, Gavin???" She yells. Gavin takes a heavy-looking metal baseball bat out of his bookbag while Jamie's back is facing him, she's struggling to get back up. (Wait... what's Gavin doing..?) Jamie finally gets up, turning to look at him. "W-What are you doing with that baseball bat..?" She asks, shakily pointing at the baseball bat in Gavin's hand. "Don't worry about it.." He says with a sinister smirk. "Gavin... you're starting to scare me....." She says, with a look of discomfort and concern on her face. Suddenly Gavin lifts his baseball bat. "G-Gavin?!? What are you doing?!? Stop! STOOOP!!!" Jamie screams, backing away from him. Gavin bashes her skull in with the baseball bat. I hear a small scream before she hits the ground. The blood splatters onto both Gavin, the baseball bat, and me. I cry in fear, my legs are trembling. He keeps hitting Jamie even though she's already dead, I hear the sound of her skull breaking even more with each hit. I'm frozen. I want to run or do something but I can't. I just keep looking at the blood dripping from the baseball bat. And he doesn't even know that I followed them. (Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck I'm so dead... And the funny part is that I've been wanting to die.... But now that I think about it.. I'm not ready to die yet..) Suddenly I gain the courage to run. I run away from the school, I know I should tell a teacher or call the police but right now I'm in such a panic.
I stop running, I run out of breath and I grab my knees, breathing heavily. I look up and I feel raindrops trickle onto my face, wetting my already pretty messy hair and dripping down to the ground. The rain washes the fresh blood off of my black hoodie. (Goddammit...... I.... I could've stopped him.. I COULD'VE FUCKING STOPPED HIM! ....And all I did was sit there and watch..... but at the same time.... everything that's happening feels like it's just a crazy dream...)
Note: I'm not even sure if I'm gonna do a part 2 or not, it all depends on how well this first part does
