In the beginning, chaos arrives at Planet Vegeta. Bardock, sensing danger, sends his beloved wife and child to an escape pod. Gine, knowing she couldn't let her son leave without a guardian, gets into the pod with him, against Bardock's wishes. With Gine keeping Goku safe, and not letting him get his head bonked like in an alternate timeline, he's still Kakarot. Many years go by, with Gine and Kakarot having many adventures, whether by her son's curious nature, or her own motherly instincts. After the last Budokai Tenkaichi tournament, Kakarot marries Chichi, and the rest begins.
Kakarot and Chichi settle into Grandpa Gohan's old home, have a child, and go to the Turtle Hermit's home to introduce their new son to everyone. Then Raditz arrives and they meet. Raditz introduces himself, and before he can attack an unsuspecting Kakarot, out comes Gine, much to Raditz's surprise. "Mother?" After a long and lengthy talk, Raditz is convinced to stay, and become good, they'd protect him.
Raditz warns that two others would arrive in 1 year's time. The group has plenty of time to train, and Gohan doesn't become traumatized from his uncle attacking everyone. One year goes by, and Vegeta and Nappa arrive, and the fight happens, but since Kakarot never died to Raditz and Piccolo, there'd be a power difference, and no Spirit Bomb.
Nappa gets overpowered by the combined might of Kakarot, Raditz, and Piccolo, and is gravely injured, but spared. Vegeta battles his future rival and former colleague, and is bested by their combined might. Vegeta and Nappa manage to escape for now. Raditz and Kakarot are alive, making Gine feel more safe on Earth. Raditz gets with Launch, and Gine gets everyone to move to West City for socializing and to let the children come up more naturally.
