Fynx looked him over and shifted to a humanoid form. "You're in luck, my Wolven friend." Dune snorted, and looked at the smaller man. "Plus, if we can fix this curse, it will lead to revolutionary medicines. If we can harness the soul-binding curse, we could even possibly eliminate death." Hearing this sent Dune into an uproar of laughter.

"You think that the higher ranking demons of hell created that curse in a way that we are able to control it? Are you kidding me?" He shook his head. "Man I was wrong in coming to you for this." Returning to his wolven form, Dune began to walk away, tail lashing angrily.

"Where do you think you're going?! Who else can cure you?"

"Any one else! I refuse to let a pshycopath opperate on me to get rid of a forever curse that he plans to use!" Fynx growled, tackling him from the side.

"I can't let you leave. Not without a sample of the curse."

"You won't get it." He snarled, turning to face the small creature. "You know what 'Forever curse' means, right? If you take a sample, and try to inject it into others, you may be able to cure diseases, but what ever demon that decides it wants free, they can take control of who ever was injected, and basically raise hell."

"No one would ever have to suffer again!" Fynx lunged again, ignoring Dune's warning. Lightning cracked in the distance, the wind picking up as a steady gale. Dune barked, ducking to the side, away from the lunge, and quickly spun, sinking his teeth into the Lynx's neck. Blood spurted, and began to ooze from the punctures, and Dune threw Fynx into the field, and began walking away. He heard a yowl of pain as the male landed against the rocks. He heard in the distance the response of multiple animals. The hunting party had returned. A flash of gold streaked the sky and came crashing down on top of him. He howled in pain, sharp teeth breaking his skin on his side. He snapped with his jaws wildly. He landed a bite on its snout, making it drop its grip and back away. He turned, licking the fresh blood from his jaw, facing his opponent. A lioness whipped her head back and forth, snarling angrily. A roar came from behind him, a large claw smashed against his head, and he slammed into the rocks. A bear stood on its hind legs, towering over him. He jumped onto the pile of rocks, beginning to sprint away. Pain was shooting from his head and side. After several minutes of hard running, he paused to check if they had followed. To his relief, they had not. He howled as darkness ate away at his vision.

Caitlin stared intently at her father. "Why am I here, Lucien?" Her foot tapped impatiently. "If I am such a nuicence that you had to kick me from the house originally, why go through so much trouble to bring me back?"

The slender vampire stood, stroking his snowy beard. His eyes glistened a red, and he frowned. "It's obvious isn't it? I cannot allow my eldest daughter to roam around with a wolf?" Park snorted, and began chuckling from behind Caitlin.

"Hey daddy, at least she has a good taste in wolves. It's Prince Dune. He's ferocious, but a coward." She giggled, striding across the dimly light room, to her father's side. The elderly vampire tilted his head back and laughed.

"Are you serious, daughter? Young Dune Callow? Well, well. I best send him my regards."

Cold water dousing his face woke him with a start. He sat up, shivering violently. "God-d-damnit Rex..." He searched around desperately eyes beginning to refocus.

"We found you passed out under a tree bleeding heavily, and a massive ass bruise on your face. What exactly happened?"

"I am still searching for the cure Rex. If I dont find it, I will never be able to return to the Clan. You know this."

"Okay, fine. What about your injuries?"

"I tried to find someone who I thought could cure me. I went to the wrong place. It turns out Fynix wants to utilize the curse to try to fight death. I didn't agree with his ideas, and tried to walk away, however, he and his followers did not appreciate that." Rex's jaw dropped momentarily, before he regained his composure. He pointed to his side, explaining the wounds, "Lioness" and then pointed to the bruises across his face, "and a bear."

"They didn't get a sample did they?"

Dune laughed, pain pounding through his head. "Hahaha, oh hell no. That would require the cooperation of both myself and Void. That will never happen." He looked around. "Can I get some warm clothes?"

"Yeah. Let me patch you up first." He said, shaking his head. "Maybe, instead of running into danger headfirst, let me know, that way I don't keep having to find your ass half dead under a tree."

"But that would be too smart." Dune laughed, wincing noticably. Rex snorted, pulling several utensils from his bag.

"We're going to have to be careful with your head, you may have a concussion." He said minutes later, as he finished closing the wound. "Your... ability... manages to keep you from bleeding out, lucky you, but I don't know how much it'll do for your head."

"Can anything help my head anyway?" He laughed, standing up slowly. Rex paused for a moment, mouth ajar as if beginning to refute the statement, and then promptly shut it. "Let's get back home." He said quietly. His brother slipped an arm under his shoulders to steady him. The grass softly crunched as they walked, leaving the small clearing. Dune sighed and looked around unconciously expecting Caitlin to be nearby. "Have... have you seen Caitlin lately?"

"No, in fact the entire vampire community has been very, very quiet since your last attack." Rex looked at Dune. "Don't you dare just go head-first into this."

"Not going to. I don't think she's in any danger, at least not yet. I do not believe her old man would hurt her, no matter how crazy he is." He said, tilting his head in thought. "That is strange though."

"Which part?"

"The silence."
