Chapter 9

Izzy opened her eye slowly squinting in to the dark haze.
"Hey," said a soft voice "stay still you hit your head on the way down so you may have a concussion." The voice sounded Familiar
"Jace?" she rasped
"hey izzy" he said softly
"how are you here? why are we down here? what did Valentine do?" a stream of questions flowed of her tongue
"hay take it easy" he said "why don't you rest and I'll explain later" Izzy sighed dramatically and rolled over. She lay for a few minuets before rolling over to tell jace she couldn't sleep when she heard a sob. She listened. Jace was.. crying? she stayed still trying to figure out why.
"clary" he chocked out the name as if it pained him to do so reaching over to izzys right and stroking the girls face. Izzy rolled over to see clary pale and perfectly still blood staining her clothes and hair Izzy gasped was she dead? Jace looked over as he registered izzys gasp
"is Clary d-dead?" she asked her voice laced with panic as she reached over touching her hand
"no" replied jace gravely "I'm sorry I didn't tell I didn't want to worry you" he reached up tanning his hand through his golden hair "I've managed to contact Alec. They are on there way, when you guys fell in here the blocks that had stopped me from contacting anyone went away." explained Jace "we cannot do anything but wait so you might as well tell me what happened" he said with a sigh before settling his head on one of the iron walls.
Izzy told jace what happened since they had left the library to save jace. "and then Valentine said thank you for your help I mean what the hell I thought he was helping us by letting us get you I guess I should have know but what did we help him do what does that key unlock?"
jace fumbled with his fingers looking up nervously "I think I know.." he said at last but then said no getting very interested suddenly in a small beetle crawling across the floor. "well?" asked izzy as she grew more nervous and more frustrated tapping her foot against the cobble irritably
"it's a chamber the chamber that holds the mortal weapon the only weapon to be able to destroy anything angle or Beast from heaven or hell" he whispered nervously looking up so see izzys reaction. her face was horror stricken "I just helped Valentine get the most dangerous weapon in the world!" she paused to shake her head "why did he need me or clary to help him?" she asked nose scrunching slightly
jace smiled sadly "Because there a two things you need to be to get the key and that is a shadow hunter and to have no bad intentions or ideas to use the weapon."
Izzy stared at him for a minuet the words processing "Valentine isn't a shadow hunter?" she asked inquisitively Jace sighed "Valentine isn't human, izzy"
