Knowing how critical it was that they get back, God picked them up and flung them at the teleporter along with the last remnant of the Vacherin Mont d'Ciel. The Vacherin landed perfectly into the center of the teleporter core. Danielle and Andrew landed at the edge of the core, right up against the big red button.
Zap.
In the blink of an eye, they were back. "Did that really happen?" Danielle asked.
They looked down at the teleporter core and saw the remainder of the Vacherin Mont d'Ciel. It floated up toward them. They opened their mouths, but the Vacherin continued to float upward past them, into the sky.
"There goes our little piece of heaven," Andrew said.
"At least God will get to have the rest," Danielle said as they unzipped their Antarctic suits.
Andrew blinked a few times. "I don't think that really happened," she said. "That cheese was just too good to be true. It can't possibly have been real."
