Oswald is a centuries old Vampire, Edward is a recently turned Lycan, Isabella is a deadly Siren, Barbara and Tabitha are Dark Fey (think like Angelina Jolie's 'Maleficent'), and Grundy is a troll.
Oswald POV
I sat at the dining room table, looking down at my glass of wine mixed with blood. I looked over at the empty seat across from me, feeling a mirroring emptiness in my chest.
"Where are you, Ed?"
Ed POV
I was walking down the street when I heard singing so beautiful, it couldn't be resisted.
I followed it to the southside docks, catching sight of a beautiful woman bobbing in the water.
"Are you alright?" I ask quietly, completely mesmerized.
"I am now." She answers, swimming up closer to the edge of the small fishing dock. She reaches up and takes my head in her hands, and I think she's pulling me in for a kiss.
But she instead pulls me into the water with such force it almost knocks me out. She tries to take a chunk out of my shoulder, but I manage to fight her off and scramble to the surface.
I get as far from the eater's edge as possible before giving into the exhaustion.
After resting a while, I pushed myself to my feet and made my way back to the mansion. It took over an hour, but I did it.
I got myself home.
I took a moment to look at the moon, which was nearing it's fullest phase. It was also going to be a blood moon this week, which meant I would be stuck in a monstrous wolf form for three nights instead of one.
I walked into the dining room, finding Oswald biting his nails still waiting for me.
He shot out of his seat upon seeing me. "Edward! What happened?!" He shouted in shock, rushing over to me.
"It's just a scratch, Oswald. I'll be fine."
"You're soaking wet."
"Ugh, this woman dragged me into the water and tried to eat my shoulder." I explain.
"A Siren. Gotham river is full of them. They come in from the sea every year to feed on whatever men they can lure over to them. They'll drag a man down into the water, knock them out with a venomous bite, mate with him, and then eat him alive. You're lucky to have survived that attack, my friend."
"I just thought about what I wanted to get back to." I say quietly, looking down at him in awe. His pale skin looks so warm in the light of the flames from the candles and the fireplace. He always looks so stylish and put together, something I could never pull off.
"I thought about you. You bring me the greatest joy I've ever felt in my life and sometimes I wonder if you're even real. I love you, Oswald Cobblepot."
His gorgeous green eyes well with tears, and he looks happier than ever. "I love you, too." He sobs out, lunging himself at me. Our lips meet in a sudden clash of icy cold and flaming heat. It almost feels like I could melt him, or maybe he could freeze me.
Either way, he's my forever, and I'm his always.
Meanwhile, at Barbara's club...
Third person POV
Tabitha sits at the bar, bendy black horns reflecting the strobing, colorful lights. Her big, black wings drape from her back, black feathers developing a greenish sheen in the right light.
Barbara walks in wearing a tight scarlet red dress, her blonde wings trailing elegantly behind her as she wears her black horns like a crown upon her perfectly coiffed head.
"Feeling blue, Tabby?" Barbara asks, taking a seat beside her.
"Hmm, no. Not with you around." Tabitha replies, pulling Barbara into a kiss. "Hey, did you meet the new bouncer yet?" Tabitha says. Tabitha was head of security at the club, so she handled hiring security and bouncers and all that.
"No, but I've been told he's brutal." Barbara says, getting that crazy look in her eye.
"Hey, Grundy! Come say hello!"
The hulking white figure comes walking in, standing tall and intimidating. His blank, lifeless eyes stare at seemingly nothing.
"A troll? You hired a troll?"
"Relax, I trained him." Tabitha says with a smile. "Grundy, what do we do when someone is being an ass?"
"Throw them out." Grundy grumbles.
"Nice work, Tabby. You trained a dumb little troll." Barbara says sweetly with a side of snideness.
"Well, I am the best." Tabby says, draping an arm around Barbara's shoulders.
